That is the law. They reasons besides you needing to grill. Most tunnels have Propane bottle restrictions since RV's carry them.

How many rv goers do you think know this? I figure anyone not a cmv driver looks at the sign and says "I don't drive a truck so that sign isn't for me." or "what sign?"

I think the second one is more practical for the situation among non cmv drivers.

    Technically, no.

And don't try and sneak through there with a 1 ton p/u truck sporting a DOT number while carrying a propane bottle because you'll be subject to an inspection.

    That one's not bad.

If you want "high", "narrow", and "scary" try the one down on 301 crossing into VA.

    I think not.

Class 2.2 is ok for the tunnels along the PA turnpike though, even in bulk containers.

Call me crazy- But I prefer to cross the bay bridge to the eastern shore as Opposed to the Key bridge.....For some reason,The key Bridge Freaks me out cause no shoulders if I Broke down,

Oh Wait you said 301........Brainfreeze lol, Ya Know I never been on that 1.

You take the Key Bridge to Bypass. NEVER EVER take anything Hazmat into the tunnels. Period. You will not make it into the tube before getting buried in Police ready to cite you.

The other alternative to Key Bridge is the outer Loop of 695. And even then you cannot take it down certain roads.

I was born and raised there, Ive taken so many hazmat across that keybridge. Dispatch yell and cry it's an hour out of route. Sorry bub, you gave me a hazmat it goes across the bridge. Fire me or shut up. And you wonder why Dispatch hates me.

895 tunnel (The old one) has additional defenses to low clearances as well, there are two lasers on 95 that measure height, when you are if you are ordered off to US 40 by electronic sign that means you will not clear the 895 tube. Fortunately US 40 is not too difficult when you understand Erdman Ave as a turnaround point or Haven street near the yards.
