I wouldn't worry too much about the open house. I read a real estate site and from what I gather open houses are more for the realtor to market themselves and gain new clients vs actually showing the house.

I'm looking for a mortgage soon too. I found the house I want but am not pre-approved with a lender and know someone will snag this house I want. Makes one antsy..

I wouldn't look at houses too hard until you're pre-approved for a mortgage. It eats you up wanting a house and not really knowing if you'll qualify at the final stages.

I agree and don't look a lot, because of just that, the fact that I can't really get approved for a while longer. However if my folks wanted me out, bad enough we could swing it without a bank mortgage. The house I think I would like right now is only a 2 bedroom which is good because that will keep people away from it. The third floor could be made into a 3rd bedroom and I would do that, but for right now a 2 bedroom is fine for the time being.

Man, the classics never really go away. Was doing pretty good for myself until tues night when I got to Grand Rapids and reached behind the seat for my gloves.

And then...a miracle. My gloves had blown inside the dolly frame and were resting on the x metal platform by the air lines. Sweet. Bad news, it was cold and rainy and they were saturated. I had the choice of cold wet hands in gloves or I could raw dog it...and have cold wet hands. Someone had gotten grease all over the lines so I chose gloves. Sometimes the stupid has to hurt before the lesson truly gets learned.

A few hours on the dash vents with the hear cranked solved most of my immediate problems. This must be like not smoking. You have to quit over and over again before you give it up for good.

Geez. How am I supposed to teach my kids responsibility if I can't even fix my own issues? Not tell them, that's how.
