How would someone plan on mounting one of these in this truck?

I don't have the truck. I'm looking for ideas for a friend of mine.

What about on the side of the passenger seat? My old man had 2 radios in his last truck. 1 in the overhead console and one between the seats, mounted to the side of the passenger seat (non air seat).

I have a 00' W900. Mine is mounted to the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering column. As close as it can get to the center console.

The guy said the windshield is one solid plate of flat glass. I can't seem to picture a KW that looks like that. He said he has no spot on the dash to attach to and he said the cubby hole up top is too small, and he is afraid if he drills holes under the cubby hole the weight of the radio might rip the bolts out of the plastic up top. Unfortunately, without seeing the truck I can't help him much.

I have a flat glass. Mine is in fact mounted on a bracket hanging off the upper console/headliner whatever you want to call it ( I can't remember the word for it atm) 2 holes drilled thru, you'll need to pull down the plastic shield some, put the bracket up and push the bolts thru the plastic, then the metal; reach over the plastic shield and nut those bolts real good.
I've seen some smaller radios mounted to the right of the steering column..
Now that I look at a pic of yours, you'd have to mount it upside down to hang it from the ceiling with that unit on top of it......
Or drill n mount directly to the dash like guys do that don't care about drilling holes directly into their dash :(

And it's 2 flat windshields, if it's 1 piece it's curved, and they have 2 piece curved as well.

    ramblingman and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Looking a little closer, I'm realizing that is actually laying on its top. So you could hang it off the ceiling. I'll get you a picture next time I go to the truck.
