As a long-time hard rock/metal fan, I'd recently downloaded a tune from Five Finger Death Punch "wash it all away". A reality check slapped me in the face when I realized how silly I must look as a man in his mid-forties jamming that song .
Then I remembered seeing Mick Mars (motley crue) a few years ago, propped up on the stage, trying to do his job in his horrendous condition.
It looked like someone put Stephen Hawking onstage, tossed a guitar and some black leather on him, and went for it. It physically hurt me to watch him try to play his guitar while in such dire pain and agony. You just knew that he really didn't want to be there, but needed to raise a few bucks to stay out of the nursing home another day.
The time comes when ya gotta hang up the leather and go out to pasture to mellow out with the slower stuff.

I usually listen to this... it helps me to get a good nap while I am driving.

Seriously though, there is a radio in my truck and I have never turned it on. The radio stations have shot themselves in the foot with too much advertising. I don't watch TV anymore for the same reason.

Do you listen to another medium, or prefer the quiet? CDs, Pandora, iHeart, etc.?

Sad, dark, depressing music at night keeps me alert for some reason. Satellite radio is nice in that it doesn't have adverts unless it is a talk show.

Google play music really impressed me with how similar of music they generated on the "radio" stations. The subscription was cheap but the cost of the data to listen to it on a regular basis was the killer.

I grew up listening to them on the radio. I share a hometown with Randy Bachman. Love them along with The Guess Who. My dad's musical tastes were a big influence early on in my life. The Eagles, Guess Who, Supertramp, etc, etc.

Classic rock lead to things like Black Sabbath and Metallica, which lead to Pantera, Machine Head and Sepultura, which lead to all things death and black metal.

I love Canadian classic rock. Headpins are one of my favourites. From the same town as their vocalist Darby Mills.
