READERS & POSTERS
Lend me your eyes!
For those not aware, Redcoat Wife has an excellent thread going in the
Discuss Your Favorite Trucking Company Here section, titled:
COVENANT - From A Wife's Perspective.
A MUST read, IMO.
Check it out.
I'm thinkin' any additional comments, thoughts and/or ideas will be welcomed.
MCR6468 Thanks this. -
maybe, maybe not. many carriers preach safety but they do this for the insurance purposes. i have never been convinced by some of the programs that i have gone thru that they were really serious about it. "safety" is a word and can be used as a weapon against you, in my opinion. being safe out here driving has alot to do with basic common sence, i have been driving for 20+ years with no problem, just using common sence.............
i look forward to your replys........ -
MCR were you trained by Covenant? Or by another company. If you were trained by Covenant I was curious if they just tossed you in the left seat by yourself or if you were actually watched and helped by your trainer.
truckon Thanks this. -
hi there, no i was trained at swift when they had their school in phoenix. my trainer was --great-- possibly the reason why i still drive. he was what you should expect from a trainer, someone that is there to teach you and not benefit from you as far as sucking up all the miles possible and treating you like ####. if i was a trainer i would do it his way, as a freind and teacher.
.............i did do some training at werner once and that i can say was a real shock, the trainer was borderline rubber room material.
i wouldn't work for them, nope.
so here i am in chatt, tn....did all i had to do and now we sit here and twiddle away. thank god i have my car here to go where i want to, otherwise i would go nuts. i am thinking of going to the tx term, less crap there than what you get here. all i need is 3 mos more and i can start to apply at other places...........maybe i'll win the lottery and just fade away...........such a nice thought.........more newbies here today........they are so hopefull of getting big $$$$ and miles i feel bad for them when reality hits them. maybe not? my --dm-- is useless...........
cream of the crap pile..........
hope this helped you..........i will check in more often these days since i will sit here and bake in my holyroller wagon.............
be well.best wishes always! -
well here it is friday and i'm still sitting here at the yard. they just pumped out 2 more orientation classes and they tell me they have no freight. first comes first newbies and trainers, everyone else can go take a flying dump.
also, they took out $300 + for hotel expenses that were supposed to be taken care of once i got a load, per my --dm--. i did 2 loads to get back to chatt..and almost a week later he tells me i need to be under a load to get this back, did i go stupid or what????????? thats what he told me last week.
i hope that more drivers read these posts that are true and accurate....if drivers stopped coming here it would send a message that this place is a #### hole.
but some of the newbies i have spoken to, are convinced they are going to hit the motherload here!!!!!!!!!!hahahahahha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what the hell did their recruiter tell them? i generally don't believe someone i don't know.......and my recruiter left out some important info,i just hope that the word gets out, COVENANT TRANS is not the place to come work to get properly trained and make any money------PERIOD!__.
i also hope that one day all drivers will realize that together against the companies we can create change and fair play, untill then, take it as it comes to ya'!
best wishes to all that read this, i welcome all questions and will answer honestly. -
MCR ---
You have 7 years experience and they're treating you like THIS?
Hmmmmmmmm
Kinda sounds like they're afraid of you, for SOME reason, and are trying to get you to quit before you've even really gotten started.
It's suspicious at best.
Thanx for keeping us informed of your personal experience(s).
Much appreciated.
MCR6468 Thanks this. -
yep, that wouldn't suprise me...... i'm not a "newbie" and they can't fool me. after swift and some other fine places of employment, i can smell a dirty deal.
i just hope the word goes out........... STAY AWAY FROM HERE.
they have trailers here loaded on the yard....but they are all reserved for "pets" and trainers and their newbies.......on there way to getting a true truckers education..........
best wishes to all ya'll out there!
p.s.-- they woke me up at 1 am to go get an mt trl, then after a while wrote back and said "disregard".......***holes!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Might be time to introduce Mr. Fist to Mr. Face.
-
this is why some companies have electronic lockdown doors to dispatch. here you don't see them unless they come out for a smoke........
you should see the werner term in NEB. looks like fort knox.
one day someone will go postal, then the question will come out: WHY DID THIS HAPPEN????
truckers take too much crap.........thats the reason we are in this position...literally.
if all the truckers were to stop and say no more, even the government would crap a loaf! you think the economy is bad now? with no freight/fuel/medicine this country could fall flat on its **s, look at the power we wield, and use it so lamely
we need better leaders, thats a start.
best wishes!
