@mc8541ss so it is possible to get mid 6's out of a cat? I'm looking at buying a glider next summer and I really want a cat for the power, but was leaning toward a Detroit because of the fuel mileage and cost of repair. Keep in mind, I haul tankers, so the truck is cutting the wind with very little trailer drag. I do run 70 and around 77,000-79,000 mostly Midwest. I'm happy with 6.5, ecstatic with 6.85+. I just didn't think a 6NZ could get that good mileage.

    I have a 08 sdp c15 500 rwhp 18 speed 3:36 gears on 24.5 rubber with average rolling resistance, not low resistance. I get 4.75mpg hauling 140,000lbs 50% loaded.

thinking of switching to lowork pro 22.5 cause in top gear I'm running at peak torque, bit I wanna be a bit above that. half gear down in direct I'm around 1400 rpm. I drive 65mph.

Keep in mind when you run in overdrive takes 30% more power to turn that high gear you'll have more Hill pulling power but you're going to lose what you gain going to low Pros 4.75 with a hundred and forty thousand pounds doesn't sound too bad

I can run 70 mile an hour in direct Drive at 1500 RPM if I put it in overdrive at 70 My EGT stays up around 850 degrees and runs about 18 pounds of boost at 1350 rpm... if I run in direct drive it runs around 700 degrees with only 10 pounds of boost so putting on low Pros and staying in direct drive at 1500 RPM will get you better fuel mileage

With the tall rubber, at 65 I'm turning 1250 rpm. I get better mileage running top gear then in direct but I drop into direct at every notable hill anyways cause it'll fall on its face at that low rpm.

1250 hauling that weight just rattles my motor apart though. I usually run direct when I drive but my driver runs top gear and lugs which is why I'm about to open her up again. I'm sure I have a broken ring.

Microblue gold kit and smaller shoes and I'll have a winner.

I don't know. seems odd, I just redid the rears so I'm 100% sure it's 3:36 on 11r24.5 tires. Do you have low pro rubber ?
