Yes, but not always an optionG13Tomcat Thanks this.

Unless you have a horrible track record, there are always better options.MJ1657 Thanks this.

How can this never be an option? I understand he may end up owing said company some money but once he moves on and works for a real company he'll be making more even counting needing to pay back that loan.
Of course it's partly his fault anyway. If he has an appointment, why is he allowing the truck to be moving in a direction that is not towards the appointment? Get a load in the wrong direction, call dispatch (driver manager, whatever he's called) and say no can do. If he says do it keep going up the chain. If the highest person he can talk to says do the run or goodbye, well goodbye....spyder7723 and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
You guys are really mean.

Sweet Jesus !!!
Is it any wonder that they treat you like a child ???
This kind of crap just leaves me .........
You are a grown ### man start acting like one and they will have to start treating you like one .
This is why you don't sell your soul to the devil and "just start somewhere ".MJ1657, TequilaSunrise, HotH2o and 2 others Thank this. -
How many times have we seen those posts like these from guys like this? Alot saying the same thing. Many companies have forced dispatch, I've talked to a couple of guys who were fired because they refused to pick up a load. as for deadheading many companies will charge the driver the fuel cost plus mileage to get some place. Btc wanted to charge me fuel plus $1 a mile to deadhead from Trenton NJ to Pittsburgh Pa. hell we've seen posts by guys who say they were threatened with an abandonment. Even seen a post by a guy who claimed his company claimed he stole the truck because he moved it after refusing a load.
Like it or not some guys have a conscience and don't want to have something like that held over their heads.Midnightrider909 and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
And of course those stories should be taken at face value. It isn't possible there is more to the story huh?
-
Not saying take it for face value, I'm more saying that although it's possible there is more to it, but not one person here is able to support the idea that it didn't happenG13Tomcat Thanks this.
