:biggrin_25510:my husband and i use to drive for Werner enterprises back in 203 and was talked into getting the driver legal plan in orientation. My husband got a ticket in florida and immediately reported it to the drivers legal plan to have it taken care of. Paid these guys 275.00 with included the ticket and a safety class which was a video he had to rent from blockbuster to not have the point show up. well a few days ago the state of florida sent a letter to the house saying his license was suspended for failure to pay a 63.00 ticket. contacted Jacksonville courts and informed them the ticket was paid according to there records they never got the certificate showing where he completed the safety class. contacted driver legal plan and they swear that they sent it to the house so i asked for a copy so it could be sent to Jacksonville court and was told they no longer have a copy of it but show the 275.00 paid. I thought this was a bunch of bull. Now he has to pay a 63.00 ticket that is already paid for and wait for a d-6 form to take to the DVM and pay a reinstatement fee of 200.00 to the GA DVM.just to lift the suspension off of his cdl license. Then be in for another surprise. There probably will be point added to his licenses and higher insurance rates our auto and his rig. after reading this please do not sign up for the driver legal plan or tvc just paid the ticket or put money back an deal with a real attorney. he paid 275.00 and now gonna have to pay another 263.00 and then some to have this mess resolved this is a nightmare. thinking something was taken care of back in 2004 and here it is 2011 and it still is not taken care of.

They are a ripoff! Will put your case with a third rate lawyer and you will be out money for lawyer, fine, court costs, and still get the points on your license. Avoid these bums at all cost!

I'll provide feedback later. Got a ticket yesterday in Tucamcari. He said he pulled me over for using my cell phone without a hands free device. I told him he didn't see that at all. I pointed to my head set. He then said I could have been texting. I unlocked my phone and showed him my text messages with time stamps. He then said I didn't signal with going into the left lane. I said I did. The ticket said I signaled too late going into the right lane and he put the cell phone in my inspection report. I didn't have the heart to tell the idiot I'm retired LE. All I can say is he best have dash cam video, which he will not.

A new half rate lawyer would get this tossed. I could get this tossed. When it is tossed, I'll get another lawyer and see just how unhappy I can make unprofessional, dishonest, uncertain LE personnel.

I purchase civil liability for something like 9 dollars a month for half a million dollars so that if I shoot someone anywhere and get sued in civil court it's covered. I also carry USCCA insurance which provides other benefits as well for that purpose.

There is also a Lawyer on retainer ready to go at 3000 dollars if something comes up in life, car wreck, shooting or whatever. It goes up from there. Tens of thousands possibly.

In trucking I have had legal plans that supposidley covered national, but frankly you are left on your own if something did happen and you got sued (I have twice... so far... and won or otherwise caused a negotiated settlement by the insurance types) I also have lost even when I won because DAC makes sure you dont get hired for months or years.

Some states arrest on the spot for certain bad behavior or killing etc. They will give you a public defender if it need be. Better than nothing. But not what you really want when your life, home, family and future is all on the line.

    Good luck!

I've spoken to him a few times.

The thing is, if I thought I may not have used my turn signal, which I did, I would just take the ticket and move on, but when he pulled the crap about my phone, which can be proven with phone records, I knew he was full of crap. That's a nice fine and he backed away from it meaning he was being dishonest. So, I won't move on until this is corrected.
