cloverleaf turn entrance ramp.Honestly it was my first day and I think I panic yanked the wheeel a bit hard during thw turn.
2)Well merging during rush hour I was riding traffics ###.
3)Woke up screaming from a night terror due to stress of being fired or kicked off truck.
4)Failed one week review horribly and "nearly killed 10 people" . I was makin : a right turn on a 4 way and traffic qas coming from my left and I was gonna ride their ### since there was a small break and I was sitting there for 2 min already. Trainer yelled stop and said I would have killed everyone
5) In those wide city streets with 4 lanes, I didnt know if I could use the center turning lane in a big rig, so I tried to take it from left lane since I didnt want to fail road review
6)Sat forever at turn above to th point truck behind me zoomed past andmade turn since I didnt want toapproach center of cross traffic to"own the turn" because I might fail the test for that.
7)Was on a street that ran through a divided highway and saw do not enter to my left(gps said do a left turn), when I approached te median I saw a third do not enter sign to my left and did a panic U since Ithought I missed my left turn earlier. (Turns out there was a road on the median I didnt see.
8) Told him how with my old company I grazed a construction batrier with tandems turning and went through a 4wheeler toll gate because my trainer told me to go in that lane. -

Im sorry I have a disbilty which means I cant type or read corretly and according to the rules you must accomodate me.
So please, can you speak louder ao I can read you better? -
Well, I certainly can't hold that last part against you. That "trainer" is a total idiot.
-
I belive because we didnt "mesh" and he was new to training he was trying to torpedo me so he could get a new student. -
Ok, I for one had no criticism of his post. I've had my say, I hope the OP reads it, and possibly thinks about what I had to say.
I'm done with this thread.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Accomodate you? He asked if anyone knew what movie a quote was from and I answered it. Old Adam Sandler flick from the 90's. It didn't have a thing to do with you or yours or anyone else's disabilities. Sorry to confuse. Getting back on track here... you've definitely got some work to do but now that you've cleaned up your original post, we see its maybe not as bad as everyone originally thought. Maybe your trainer is a bit over dramatic, I don't know. None of us are there with you. we read what you write. When you tell us that your trainer said you've almost killed multiple people on different occasions, red flags go up.
I am wondering are you in the bunk while he's driving or in the passenger seat? You said you were texting while he is driving. During my training week, the trainee sits in the pass. seat and observes everything while trainer drives. No cell phones other than to text the wife goodnight. You can learn alot from just observing and asking questions. It may be able to help reduce your stress watching how he deals with certain situations on the road. Also read every sign you pass. hell, read them out loud if you have to. You might impress your trainer. Just dont do it for too long because he might think your nuts. That will be the rest of your life, reading signs and saving idiots from themselves. -
Sorry I excetued a joke very poorly with my previous post.
We're running as a team but whenever I'm exiting or entering an interstate, highway, major city he is right there in the junmp seat. Hes also always a holler away.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
One of my trainers said something that has stuck with me for the the duration thus far of my very short career...
Stop driving that ####ing tractor and drive the trailer. #### that tractor. You don't get paid for delivering the tractor.
In a curve you want to be doing at the very least 5 mph less than the suggested speed limit, even if you impede traffic to do so. If you are top heavy, you will want to take it much, much slower. Don't jerk the wheel ever. When I am entering a tight curve, or any curve, I always try to downshift and be going slow enough that I actually am accelerating through the curve. For that matter, I always try to be in a gear that requires me to have my foot on the floor lol
Another thing that was spoken to me at orientation was with regard to the mentor and scoring us early on. Don't be upset when your scores and various milestones don't get high marks in the beginning. Nobody knows a #### thing about driving when they first get inside of that seat, no matter how people posture. Neither did the mentor. Maybe yours is a dick. I've got issues with mine but one thing he ain't is a dick. When I do something stupid or careless, but no lives are risked and no property is damaged, he usually just remarks about the time he did something equally or twice as stupid when he was new. And the truth is, whatever your mentor says, so did he.
I had to back up 3 miles in the #### fog, maybe 15 feet of visibility, at 4am in back ### woods Louisiana the other day, while my mentor(who I had to wake up after he drove for 11 hours and had been asleep for 2 hours) stood outside in the cold, in his underwear and a pair of crocs, carrying a flashlight to mark where the end of my trailer and the edge of the road were... On a winding road with nowhere to turn around.
And was he pissed? Oh I have zero doubt he was pissed. But he didn't say #### about it. He rubbed his eyes and smoked a cigarette, while telling me about the time he parked in a dirt lot for his 10, woke up in a mud lot and he and his mentor stayed there for 2 days waiting for a tow.
#### happens. Just try to restrict your newbie mistakes to those in which there is no property damage and no injury or loss of life and you will be successful as a student, and you will get better. Just remember that you did a lot of stupid #### when you were new, if and when you ever have a student on your truck.Velli Thanks this.
