One of the reasons leasing is popular for companies is the value of the lease and the lower on book maintenance costs offsets the declining value of the trucks. Looks much better to the banks.

Come out come out wherever you are. Have you started your new company thread yet?

I left the house this morning after my customary 3 nights a week off, heading out to do my weekly roundtrip.

    Keep us posted BD69er...

Well, I made it home late last night, I was supposed to get in around 1530 but Murphy and his dang Law got involved and I didn't make it until 2330. Fell into bed after having been up for around 50 hours straight and just woke up.

    Where to start...

As you all know, I'd been stuck waiting to go for the best part of a week when, with one day left in my notice, Trans Am finally decided they had played with me enough and, after threatening to jack up my DAC if I refused the load despite my notice, set up a load for me. Basically, it was supposed to be ready and waiting just outside Asheville, NC and was to be T-called to the yard in Olathe. Only part of that that turned out to be true was the loads location. Had to wait almost 9 hours to actually hook up the load. Clock shot...parked it at a truck stop and went to sleep. Man was I bent but not much I could do about it so I woke up early and hit it like a madman the next day. 587 miles through mountains of NC and Tenn with 44,500 in the box, fought my way through the Nashville Nightmare shifting over from 40 to 24, cleared Kentucky and stopped in Mt Vernon IL for the night. Last sleep I got until I got home. Up at 1230 and hit it again. IL, MO and KS. Message comes in, Tcall cancelled, you deliver or else, stop in Overland Park to drop and found out that load wasn't scheduled in for a day and a half...but we'll work you in sometime today. Got fairly lucky and got emptied out in four hours. On to Olathe, dropped truck and trailer, grabbed bag, called cab and shagged out as fast as I could.

So I'm free of that Mickey Mouse outfit and begin my new gig Tuesday at 0900. Going to spend a few days learning tarping and load securement and then I'm on my way. They've gone ahead and assigned me directly to flatbed, which is fine by me, and basically I'm looking at 4 days of orientation/training and then I'm on my way with them. I'm really looking forward to it, they've made me feel wanted and welcome right from the get go and I hope this works out better for me.

I'll do a TA wrap up thread sometime tomorrow and post a link to it here and after my training/orientation I'll start a new thread on my new outfit and let y'all know how it's going over there.

@Broke Down 69; FWIW, you B one hell of a lot more patient man than I could be. Suggest you wait a few weeks, then pull your DAC. Just to see.

Thanks @Big Don, I tried every way I could to endure it for six months but it just got to be more than I could stand. I finally realized I have a pretty in-demand tool in my box...that Class A CDL...and I should put it to more proper use. I'm really looking forward to this move and hope it works out better in the end.

Sorry @G13Tomcat, I don't know Chickie Monster so I doubt we're related...unless she's from the branch of the family that's Presbyterians and horse thieves...I try to avoid those heathens...lmao!

G13Tomcat and Big Don Thank this.

Good luck with the new job, keep us updated!
I'd be curious what your DAC says, after jumping through every hoop they placed in front of you.

Im sure you have pictures of the trk left in their yard along with Reciepts showing transportation back home..if they ding your dac report, then i would file complaint with hire right who owns dac and submit the proof and then trans am has only certain time frame to respond and remove it or dac will automatically remove it...
