You don't have to be a psychiatrist to read the regulation.

Even if the regulation says you can that doesn't mean that an employer is going to hire you if you are on those meds. I know if I were hiring manager for a carrier and somebody disclose to me that they took any sort of a downer that would be a no hire for me. My mom was on klonopin for years and a complete and utter Space Case. I tried one once and could barely even walk to the bathroom. If you can find a deity doc to sign off on it and an employer but doesn't mind then I might work out for you, especially combined with the Adderall.

Mine too. BS, almost got a masters but I hated my thesis advisor and never wrote my thesis. When I got my physical I disclose that I had a hydrocodone prescription and I had to get a special note from my doctor saying that it would not affect my driving. I was also told that I'm not allowed to take that even if my doctor said it's okay. I think there's a lot of misinformation out there. All I know is I switched to ibuprofen and it actually works better.

The reason there is confusion on this is most epilepsy medications have other uses. I have epilepsy and 2 of my seizure medications have other uses. The FMCSA could have worded all of this better.

I did the full two years including all the research for my thesis and my clinical internship. My thesis advisor expected me to work for free on his study. When I wouldn't do it he refused to supervise me any longer. I took all my research threw it in the trash and moved on. probably not the best decision I ever made but I think most psychologists and psychiatrists are full of s*** anyway. The profession attracts people with issues.
