Yeah the health insurance is all jacked up everywhere!! To be honest, I've been at WM for 10 months and its been a good experience for me as for what I want in my career. Its helped me truly see what I really want. I came from a job where I was home everyday, the highest paid driver in 2015 out of 900+ drivers. I worked nights 6 days a week for prob 45/52 weeks. No sick leave used or any of my 2 weeks vacation. Good insurance.
IMO Walmart has treated me better than any other driving job out there. They really do take care of their drivers. I average more $ per day than my previous job but I also work my 14 out compared to working 11-12 at old job.
Now, FOR ME with my current situation (no wife, no kids) I thought WM would be perfect job for me, but considering im in the market for a house cause I don't want to be paying 900-1k month for a 1 br apt (need a garage) I've came to conclusion I should have stayed at previous job. I shouldn't have been sooo greedy and burnt myself out and just worked less still would have prob made good money and had better insurance. I ask myself why pay rent or a mortgage for me to be there only 10 days a month. Which is why I'm seeking employment back at old job and another employer.
MORAL of the story!!.. Ask yourself what you truly want in your career!!? What's better for you/ family? How important is being home? How important is money/insurance? How well are you treated? Sometimes the grass IS greener on the other side, sometimes It's NOT, and sometimes (in my case) its the "SAME" kinda grass just different ways of getting it LOL!! Merry Christmas everyone be safe!!
Walmart here I come!

Thank you. $95K is very doable. My husband has been close to $90K for the last 2 years, (he has only been here 4 years coming up on the 17th), and this is in one of the lowest paying areas.
I imagine with the good financials, that everyone will be getting another raise in a couple of months also.Last edited: Dec 6, 2016
