And to all of you claiming it's a perversion and unnatural, what would you suggest be done with persons born with both sets of dangly bits? Burn them at the stake?
Fact is, no two people on earth fit into a box perfectly the same, yet society has created these boxes since the beginning of time.

I used to work at a warehouse where 2 transgender drivers would deliver or pick up pretty frequently. They were both very nice and respectful. One of them, if having a bad day, seemed to jump to conclusions about it being because he/she is transgender and while there may have been a run-in with another driver over it, I honestly think this person just wanted to play that card anytime things didn't go his/her way.

To my knowledge, I haven't run into any on the road, but it wouldn't matter to me anyway. I treat people with the same respect that they treat me and I don't care how they dress, what gender they are, what color they are, what nationality they are (as long as they speak English), or even how long they've been out on the road.

What I've expercianced and seen can't be unseen. I'm trying not to jump in this too heavy. Cause it hits close to home.

Bear in mind I was and am a Southern Baptist, but I was also a good southern boy taught by even my great grandparents to respect all till they proved themselves unworthy of it.

But back when I was powerlifting, I had a workout buddy/ spotter. Still very good friends to this day. His name was Sid, Sid was a FtM. There was nothing in any part of Sid that was female, other than certain anatomical parts. Sid liked working out with me cause well, I never brought it up. We talked about it obviously, but I treated Sid with a bit of common respect, and point of fact I on at least one occasion had too get between Sid and a fight, cause Sid wasn't the type to gladly take insult and not do anything about it. Matter of fact I even took a shot to the kidney from Sid stopping this. The would be insulter then bout fainted when Sid actually went for him.

Point is if any of that made sense, if someone is so deeply mentally the opposite of thier assigned birth gender, more power to em. I'll fight for em everyday. Yeah you got confused and conflicted individuals who don't know quite who they are, but Sid knew, and I had no doubt. And for someone like Sid, he just wanted to be respected and left alone, didn't want no special privileges, wasn't trying to "corrupt the youth."
Just being what he was the best he could.

Anyway I'll leave it at that.
    et vivere, reservate.

Let's try to stick to being productive and giving advice, and keep this civil.

Why not learn to be happy and comfortable in your own skin. Be happy with how you were created and know you were created that way for a reason. Learn that race, sexual preference, or gender is but a small part of who you are, and what makes you, you! God created you how you are, and who are we to decide that he is wrong and we need to change it.

To be clear I don't hate transgenders.

Just like in don't hate the homeless guy you see on the sidewalk having a conversation with someone that isn't there.

I see them both as mentally ill.

I have empathy for the mentally ill.

The problem I have is with political correctness programming people to believe that transgender is normal and healthy.

    It's not.

Why is my belief presumed and yours is fact? No matter though, everything I said are good rules to live by.

I am saying there is a God. But I am not him.

God created people who believe they are of the opposite sex that they were given the parts for. God knew before they were born that this would be the challenge they would have to over come. Science has given them the option to change what they were born as, and our law gives them the right to do so. When the time comes for them to face God, I pray that God grants them peace and admission to heaven. Not because I approve but because I want God to grant me the same peace and admission.

Is it a mental health issue? I would have to be able to jump inside their head to figure that out. However, if it is a mental health issue it still is what God created.

When I was in grade school, there was a boy my age who everyone (not me) wanted to catch in the restroom to see if he was really a boy. He had very fine woman like features. Sang soprano in the choir all through High School. Teased by the jocks. He was one of the early trans gendered in 1975. I lost track of him but hope he found peace.
    I see both sides.

What I object to is having any debate on the issue being scene as my being hateful. As for me, I am a straight, white male, in my early 60's who volunteer for Vietnam. I have twice been nominated for Congress by the Republican Party. I am conservative as in the Constitution says what is says and if you want to change it pass and amendment. Not have the courts skip the process. Nothing in the Constitution says you can not change your sex. Nothing in the Bible says you cannot change your sex. So, you can expect me to be warm and supporting to any choice you make. But if someone tells you they think your're a freak, don't expect me to disagree too loudly.

Ain't it funny how the most judgemental people are the ones that claim they are progressive?
