Kinda where I was at, the Pepsi distributor said it would be at least 2 years before a full-time route would open in the mean time if have to cover for vacations and work at the warehouse getting 35 hours a week. Just didn't cut it for me

I plan on doing OTR for as long as I can stand it and then go home and try to get a decent a local job. That one he posted from Craigslist I can almost guarantee you the $25 an hour its for what they call an experience driver. Which probably means 10 years of experience running their loads. I'd bet the starting wages are closer to 15 an hour with lots of ### to kiss and years of part-time temp work before the job starts to resemble the advertisement for the job. The company I currently work for says their drivers average $1,500 a week. I've been with them for 6 months and it's 1200 a week plus about $80 in mileage bonuses.

I like otr, my wife and kids like the way I run. I can't see doing anything else anyone soon. My wife is even thinking of getting her CDL once the kids are moved out.

My kids are still young so miss them lots. OTR is great if you don't have somewhere else youd rather be.

You're looking in the wrong places.

But even that still has to beat CRE by leaps and bounds.

From what I read on this forum CRST and CR England are the worst of the megas. In general the worst companies to work for are the ones that claim they treat you like family or brag about being Christians.

^Any true Christians wouldn't brag about it to the world, they're more humble and don't try to shove religion down anyone's throats.
At any rate mixing religion with business is asking for trouble.
That being said CRST and CRE are bad, but there are companies with worse reputations than those two(Carolina Cargo and ANY COMPANY associated with a certain no good hack, cough, cough Rod Larson).lol

Well posted truth ! & thank you Mjd 4277
.... As a rookie in this line of work, not only do we need to learn how to operate the equipment and what the laws are but how to recognize the truth from the lies

    Fact is :
No trucking company can stay in business without a driving force
So what does that say ?
.... That says that the young uniform rookie driver better wake up and smell the coffee real fast
Ask your self this question :
If the devil knocked on your front door wanting to come into your home, how would he be dressed?

im headin back to cr england to finish up the contract this spring 2017. i thought bout paying them back the $5k+ tuition with a payment plan. but tht would defeat the purpose of why i went there in the 1st place. i only have less than 3 months left on my contract plus i dnt have to worry about winter driving which is less stressful and of course lot less dangerous. i dnt want to have this debt over my head at all, not only that its gonna take me more than the time left on my contract to pay off the tuition.

I'd rather put up with 3 months at that hell hole than give them $5,000.
If you can get them to keep you busy, 3 months could fly by.
