Let me start by saying,I mean I respect these guys (try to). They are doing a job more Dangerous than my dry van, but, they tend to pi.. me off on a daily basis. For one I know they're getting Paid by the load, have to get 3 loads in or whatever. These drivers are always driving "Over their head"? Discourteous, often dangerous, get outta the way,I own this road driving style,Air horn blaring if you'really not going 67 in a 60 and you're in the middle lane.Sometimes it's like a "fleeing felon" beside you.My driver buddy a work told me how he ran his self into the ground daily to bring home 550 a week. Why do people do it so cheap? Just wondering.I get the Flip outta the way when I see logs.
What's the Deal with these Log truck drivers?

They're not all like that. Eventually you will end up dead and in the process killing someone else. Besides hauling az doesn't really make any more money. No excuse for it.
RubyEagle, Lepton1, BUMBACLADWAR and 1 other person Thank this. -
awhile back ran across a want that paid $18 and change per hr for drivers at a logging company. home every night tho i dont think it was all about timber. Forset Humas and the like with benefits, passed it up. for what its worth I don't see to many logging trucks doing what you've mentioned.hmm
Rusty Trawler Thanks this. -
I doubt they'll end up dead, maybe a ticket or two.
Have you tried talking to them on CB? Like get inside their head man. -
Really? I see it 2 or 3 times a week. It's like "Get the F outta the way, here comes the log guy.Not all..In all fairness...but at least 60% in Washington I5 where I'm at.Yes,I respect them for doing this Hazardous job.My best friend drove a log truck for 12 years in Oregon. No doubt these guys or gals are Fearless. That's ok.Just saying drive down I-5 south towards Portland at 230 am,see what you think?Lepton1 Thanks this.

I don't know what they are smoking in the NW. Here in Arkansas we have log trucks all the time. They do not run too hard. They know better and mind. If they don't get it all down to the mill, there is more tomorrow.
Once in while though someone is fixing to get killed by log. But not too often.Rusty Trawler and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this. -
Talk to them on CB really? I usually get air horn and flipped off,not to mention,"Passed short".Sorry,I'm not doing 67+,it's foggy,30° and shiny wet road,Yikes!

i share forest roads with loggers (im tanker)...the local guys are usually good
when out of towners (short contracts) show up, gets interesting, they dont want to give up the center as much as they should when im loaded...yeah theyre top heavy, my tank load isnt eggsactly stable...we're by the hour so driver properly, theyre by the load, so yeah they take chances.Trucker61016 and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this. -
Yeah, when I did the Springdale,Fayetteville,Rogers run they were Tolerable, not to bad..You had fair warningx1Heavy Thanks this.

During the day it's not quite as bad but yep there is an issue developing with the log guys on I5. More of them are driving like the can haulers every day. Seems less of an issue on 97.BUMBACLADWAR Thanks this.
