Well that 13% less is about right without matin aiming a trailer and its tires. Keep in mind though, their 75% could be more than Tri state 88%. % of load can be misleading song everyone gets paid differently for freight

How much more does contract freight pay than broker freight?
-
$7000 gross per week on how many miles and what kind of trailer??
-
-
So is Tri state allowing you to negotiate with brokers or they actually send you the loads? I thought they got you the loads -
-
I've resorted to calling Lone Mountain. Not sure if my chances are any better getting approved by them than any other financing company. The financing company that approved me, approved me for 30% down and 17% interest. Going to see if Lone Mountain will accept me for a new truck, and if so, then I'll be going to another carrier that I'm about set up with, they don't do lease purchase but it's a bit better of a deal than Tri State.
88% of gross, $650/mo brand new trailer but it's a lease, so I could own it eventually free and clear, and $220/week cargo and liability - and the best part is, I can book my own freight if I want, and I'd get 90% instead of 88% for that load.
Tri-State seems like a good deal, but I don't think I'd own the trailer, and I don't think I'd get to find my own loads. -
BoyWander- Didn't we have a discussion not too long ago about business?
I thought you were far more knowledged than what I see in this thread...........
This discussion seems to me that your inexperienced with ownership and operations- I Got the opposite notion when we spoke the other day- You seemed to understand Logistics and Broker vs customers etc....
Why are you even considering buying/leasing a truck to existing carriers...?
Keep 1 thing in mind BoyWander- No Matter the Carrier-Or the Promises- YOU will always be at their Mercy- Slow or Busy. They Fail,Guess what,YOU Fail If you dont run quickly when tides turn.
I honestly thought you were a Broker or small business owner when we spoke- Your sure fooled me you did. -
Excuse me? I never told you anything about me, or what I've done...you seem to take what you read and turn it into what you want...I don't even remember you nor have I spoken with you.
I've never owned a truck before, and have never told anyone I had. I do understand logistics and brokering, and understand a bit about the industry, not as much as people who are seasoned, but I pick up on things.
I'm well aware of the risks about leasing etc. if you lease a truck from a carrier, you're at their mercy, of course I know that - I'm also well aware of the rewards.
As far as being a broker, well I was a broker for a month, and gave up on it. Difficult finding customers, it's cut throat, don't think I'd ever do it again. I don't recall ever telling anyone anything about myself that isn't true.
I don't like how you come onto my topic and start pointing fingers at me like I did something wrong to you. What is your problem?
Oh wait, now I remember you, you're the one that operates a business but doesn't believe in free markets.
So I guess that the misconceptions you have about me (that I had nothing to do with) gives you a seemingly valid excuse to keep believing in your socialist bull crap.
You're a hypocrite and the worst kind of capitalist. Get off my thread unless you can contribute to answering my original post. -
Whooa there BoyWonder- You need to take a chill pill-
Your obviouisly taking what i'm saying the wrong way!!
Not insulting you at all..... I was impressed by your knowledge of the Industry- But See little here on this thread....
YOU, Seem to be a person that gets uptight FAST- You wanna be a "Trucker" You Better learn a little Thick skin and Understand folks that are Helping you- Not Hurting you
And As For a Hipocryte? Lol......Ive been in this business a long time and have been helpful to so many that struggle-
As For Thinking I may have capitalism in me.........Your Wrong- ONLY in trucking Do I believe that a Regulated Market Allows Seasoned carriers to FINAL:LY put their Guard Down and Work Their Contracted Lane- Unlike the Free Market of Today where No-one sleeps well at night- on the carrier Side.
But the Brokers certainly Sleep Well- And How you failed may have to do with your attitude!!
I Wont bother you anymore . And I Strongly Urge You to Change your Snotty attitude and Uptight personna- You wont make it as a driver either.
Best of Luck to ya
