Hey thanks appreciate it. And just cuz I'm not there anymore, don't hesitate to call if you have a question I'll still help if I can. Family life pretty much led me to leave when I was offered a job with more hometime for same pay, but this new pay raise could lead me right back lol. I really liked it there, but more time with my kids was impossible to pass up but pay raise could lead me back to Millis to run regional lol

You are not officially an employee until you finish the three weeks of school and the three day orientation. When you are on the truck with a trainer you are an employee. Keep in mind, in this industry, you can be let go for just about anything. If you have issues getting your license, I.e. You take the driving test three times and still can't pass it, they can let you go. I've seen it happen. Granted it's usually a problem individual and the input from your trainer goes a long way. So... if you butting heads with your trainer, ask about switching trainers before it gets you in trouble.

It also means if you are a problem during three week training you could not be offered a job. I can't believe how many guys who have never driven a truck before come in like they know it all and are unwilling to learn or take criticism. There's at least one in every class. But usually most make it through.

Millis has an unwritten 3 strike policy. Meaning they will hire you 3 times but once you quit that 3rd time you ain't coming back. If you left on good terms, no cussing no abandonment, they will probably take you back no problem. For example, I gave them 24 hour notice when I quit. I was gone 2 1/2 years and when I applied back, they called me within 2 hours asking when I could start. If you've been gone less than 30 or 60 days (not sure which) you may not even have to do orientation.

That's what I figured, and maybe even putting it that way for the people that might try to sue if they didn't make it through so didn't have an offer.

Ya I left on good terms. Day I was turning truck in Opie messaged me telling me keep his number in my phone and if things didn't work out at new company just call and he'd take me back in a heartbeat. I like where I'm at for the most part, but def deal with more "trucking bs" than I ever did at Millis. However I'm yet to get within 4 hours of where I'm delivering and not have my next load, and sometimes my next 2-3 loads which is really nice.

Millis really doesn't like to preplan much.

I hear ya on the bs deal. That's the main reason I came back. Like I always say, "there's no such thing as a perfect trucking company. " but I've never been messed with at Millis.

Be careful with the "sue" word. If they hear anyone say anything like that they will drop them like a hot potato. Just like the government, they don't negotiate with terrorists. Lol

I've got Pat as dispatcher, and I'm never short a preplan unless he's out sick. He might be the only one that does it though.

Oh no, I wouldn't ever think like that. I'm just saying it's what the USA has become, very entitled.
