Yeah I wouldn't know there doing it wrong either, seems to me Jamie has a lot of dough laid out in gear that is for sure. Could you imagine running such an operation all the pieces parts and tools needed to be put on each truck to keep it all going. Then at the same time all the screw balls working for you breaking everything and beating the heck out of all the equipment, no wonder Al Quiring uses just 3 trucks his friend and two sons.

Not that different from some of the small businesses here, lots of money and even more liability tied up in your truck on a daily basis. How much would your company lose in product, face, and legal fees if you went all dumb and put your truck into a fuel pump or through a wall...

I know they told us especially the night transit guys they said don't dodge deer if one jumps out in front of you hit it. They have had guys in the past who have tried to dodge deer which I guess would be the knee jerk reaction thing to do and they have gotten them selves into a ditch. They said easier to replace a bumper then have a whole truck lying half on it's side.

I followed the series for a long time. What gets me is that rusty cable finally snapping when they know is already rusty.... Or the young bone head failing to chain his tractor and closing the highway on the mountain...

I liked Bruce alot, but he passed not long ago. It's a shame that he did not have world class iron to work with and having to do work that is heavier than his rig would allow.

Some of the show is excessively theatrical taking advantage of viewers who know nothing. That is when I throw stuff at the TV set.

Finally all those oil patch trucks sliding into a field up north, it's senseless. One good push with a bunch of money would widen those two lane roads over a summer and make it able to take the traffic. Ive spent a life time on ice and rarely slid off like these fellas have been doing. It's gotten to the point that if I don't have to to see the doc on ice or go out on it, im happy just to stay in. Im damaged that way. I'll do it. But it's not me I worry or the car etc it's the other dum dums who don't know how to handle ice.

The little boy finally quit. He is not a recovery man. I don't know what the problem or motivation is but it's better he quit and take up something he likes.

As far as the crew they are good, but sometimes take chances. I quit counting how many times those cables sing under load with people in range of being cut in half. Come on now...

Disregard the above definition.I put it in the wrong thread while sleep walking. Then I couldn't undo my mistake.

They actually did finish twinning Highway 63. Most of it was done the year season 3 first aired. The last 2km stretch was officially opened in June of this year (as we found out on our way home after the big fire). That highway was a nightmare before they twinned it. All the young punks racing each other to Edmonton on the first morning off. You could drive 10-15 over the speed limit and you'd get passed like you were parked. In winter you expected to be delayed every time you travelled the highway because the people here are idiots and cannot drive for ####! Minimum of 3-5 fatalities every winter on that highway. All preventable.

Building a road up there is a lot different than down here. Even North Dakota is different. It looks flat and easy but it is nowhere as easy as it looks like it should.

Even after the 7 fatality wreck when they finally kicked the twinning project into high gear, it took nearly 3 years to complete the 240km stretch of highway. Its all muskeg so like you said, not easy to build a road on.

    Edit: https://www.google.ca/amp/news.nati...sh-on-albertas-highway-63-leaves-six-dead/amp

2005-2009: 46 deaths, 310 injuries according to the article. Since the twinning, I rarely hear of serious and fatal wrecks on that highway.

Instead of adding lanes to the highway maybe making it harder to get a license would have cost much less.
