You're right, from Oregon, that does NOT surprise me at all. WA., OR., and CA. are ALL Commie states to me. I think if a driver doesn't want to wear a seatbelt, screw them...let them die! I wear my seatbelt EVERYWHERE as I have seen some nasty stuff from people who didn't wear their seatbelt....screw that, I wear mine now! Oh yea, you hear people saying that if they had it on they would have been cut in half and all that BS...ok, so what makes sense? You have 1% who died because of belt on and 99% who lived because they had it on? HELLO! But, I still think it should be a choice....#### we allow the massacre/brutal murder of babies (partial-birth abortion where the baby's brains are sucked out), yet we give tickets for adults not wearing a seatbelt? WTF?!?!

Chances are the guys that don't follow the seatbelt law also don't follow the other laws.....ya know, the "billybob big rigger" types. I don't have a problem with it...and I live in Clackamas County.

Its the ideas of the thing. He's assuming (making an ### out of you and someone cuz I would'nt run in that puke state) that no one obeys the law. Just another joker making money, probably milks off half of it before sending the Govt it's cut.

It is where trucks are concerned, and a few other things, too. Now, I mean no offense to you or anyone else from OR, but you have to admit, where trucks are concerned, it's all about the revenue. They can say they are saving lives all they want, but I'm not buying it. Middle North Kalifornia is what I call it, with Extreme North Kalifornia just above it. I have hated running Oregon for years. They don't have cops, they have revenue collectors.

I only wear my seatbelt when driving through scales or during a traffic stop.
We have the right to wear or not to wear it..

The cops in my state tried to use photo radar for speeding tickets the problem with that is most of the tickets were dismissed when people would fight it due to not catching the face of the driver the cops had no eveidence that it was the owner of that car. Most of the time it was snapping blury photo's.

Also they made it a rule that if there was going to be photo radar people had to be warned about it ahead of time. I have not seen the photo radars down in denver area as much they use to be out all of the time.

They still use photo radar in the town of Fort Collins for red light runners that has had it's problems too but unless you fight it nothing will change.

I think that cops using the photo anything is violation of our rights. .

We have the right to privacy you are driving a truck it is not like you are in a store some were that has cameras for security.

I can and have put on a seatbelt before I stop for a cop it was even in my personal vehicle they may have thought they did not see the seatbelt on but if it is on when they get up to my vehicle how are they going to prove that I was not wearing it unless they see me actually putting it on.

I have done it twice once in my pickup at night I turned the corner before he did I reached down low and grabbed my belt then buckeled it.

The other time was in my car I was getting pulled over while at work I turned the corner in the daylight but I was far enough ahead of him that I reached down low again and grabbed the belt an buckled up.

I am not like most people that grab the belt up high so the cops can see you.
It also helps to have part of the seat belt obstructed so they can only tell if you are wearing it when they are at the window.

Please, give me a break... just cuase somebody chooses not to wear their seatbelt DOES NOT LEAD UP TO "Chances are the guys that don't follow the seatbelt law also don't follow the other laws" That is just plain ignorant... Coming from somebody who lives in Oregon your comment does not surprise me.

Basicly it is against your rights but it comes down to one than.. Revenue..

Seatbelt law is just a way for probable cause to pull somebody over and leading to a check or search..
    Other reason is simply revenue......
    Proof is in the writing....
Notice the money is listed before saving lives.....

Sorry but there are many ways to save lives other then ticketing people for not wearing seatbelts.... They just choose not to "spend" the money to save lives....

Where a person lives is not an indicator of their IQ level. What I don't understand is why someone would choose not to wear their seatbelt. Have you ever seen what happens to a body that gets thrown from a vehicle or someones head that goes thru a windshield? By "choosing" to wear mine, am I ignorant? I don't think so. But then, I'm just another Oregonignoramus with some common sense.
