YeAH!
Especially with the number of jobs available to college educated folks going to Mexico, India and China, leaving their displaced employees to fend for themselves in whatever way they can --- and often turning to Big truck truckin' as a way to feed the family and pay the bills.
BSD, I'd tend to think you're one step AHEAD of the game. You just avoided a pink slip. Now, rather than "hunting" for another job, you're "hunting" for game. Or, culling the heard.
Seven on --- Seven off --- what's not to like? Try THAT with a college required job.
Swift, had a dumb swift driver hold up the shipping dock

considering the worth of 2 cents - you're 2 cents isn't worth much - swift is not a very good company to stay with - only to get a start with.

Everyone has their own opinion, and they come a dime a dozen. Just because some have a terrible time with them, doesn't mean they all do. And BTW everybody's 2 cents is worth something to somebody. -

Here is my 2 cents worth.. I worked for Swift for 1yrs, other than not making much money ( and probably part my fault) I had a great trainer, excellent trucks, good DM, and never had a problems getting home when needed.. On top of that I took two weeks off for a family emergency, I got to keep my Tractor and attached trailer at home. Now how many companies let their drivers do that...
mt1trucker and cat 500 Thank this. -
You could of probably solved the problem by walking over to the trucker and letting him know his mistake. Instead of watching him talk on the phone and watch boxes fall off the conveyors!!! Hope this helps you out for the next time this situation happens again. Good luck, be assertive if you see something that doesn't seem RIGHT!!1

I do not drive for Swift or any other well know company. I have read where it was a Swift driver who did this or that. These unfortunate events can and will happen to anydriver. It does not matter what name is plastered on the tractor and trailer, things happen. I have made mistakes and I drive a straight truck. It sounds to me like maybe their training program could use an overhaul so these drivers can get experience. Remember, if you judge people you too will be judged.
