The downtime is serious consideration with Freightliner. I rent a truck if it's going to be down more than two days and I like to keep the amount of renting as low as possible.

Lol, I can appreciate a response with a healthy dose of sarcasm!

It's sounds very much a catch 22 situation. Someone would do well to create an app that showed expected wait times at various dealerships, though I'm sure the dealers wouldn't be too impressed...

Maybe that would give them reason to put some pep in their step.

I have to ask. Doesn't it worry some that there IS a crapload of repair shops for that combo? I own a Dodge Cummins and couldn't find anyone to work on it because there wasn't much call for it except for exhaust and delete work. Ford was their bread and butter because they were ALWAYS breaking down. Just some food for thought.

Well the brand new crapcadia starting with the check engine light after I put less than 250 miles on it. Oil pressure gauge jumping up and down, though I'm not sure if they are related or not.

Been sitting in dealership for two and a half hours so far and they still can't tell me what codes it's showing.

Add to that a couple of screws rattling out, door hinges that needed grease when i got into it, I'm just not all that impressed right now.

Is it an automatic? The oil pressure jumps all over with those. That's normal.

It is an auto and no it's not normal. Not like it was doing. It had a bad oil pressure sensor. 3 hours to diagnose and replace. Not sure why it would take so long, but I guess I should consider myself lucky I got out the same day.

We've had good luck with detroits running local work.

Just picked up a new western star with a 600 Detroit in it. See how that fairs out.
