So far I'm really liking it here, they are going to have me go with a TE because my downshifting sucked but my backing was a piece of cake. I think it was because of the truck I was in and the guy I did road test with , he was nice but was trying to explain things so I was trying to listen aND do it the way they want things so it messed me up lol but it's okay because I had rather learn the way they expect it. Another guy was needing to go with a TE too but he chose not to so they tested him again and he passed and he is able to get a truck , I was worried what would happen if I said no so I didn't retest but I'm fine with being with a TE for a week .

you're better off......pick the TE's brain about the Qualcom and Navigo......those are your most important tools. Get really confident with both and you'll be fine. Ask him / her to show you how to do a location search on the Navigo, it will save you a bunch of time...........ok, so you're sitting getting unloaded and it's taking a bit longer than you thought. In the meantime, you could be dialing up your next destination by simply typing in @123456 (location code.....immediately precedes the name of the next customer) in the location search box rather than waiting for the computer to hook you up when you activate the next assignment (maybe 5-10 minutes).

    good luck

Thanks , I didn't know about the code search until now. I have worked with the Qualcomm before at Swift but didn't know about the loads tab etc until now so I'm thankful they take the time to show you this stuff and drivers like you to tell me so thank you .

That's good advice from Opus. Alot of time you'll get booted from the dock with nowhere to park while waiting for the dispatch to load after completing your tasks. Youll at least have directions. Using your time wisely when being unloaded and figuring out alternate routes in your atlas. Dont forget the @ sign. Otherwise it may not give you a designated truck route. Also inquire about going out of route and toll roads. Schneider's navigo will give you a complete headache of a route to avoid a $4 toll charge. On my account we don't need permission for off route toll roads but it's my understanding that dedicated works a little differently than VTL and regional in that regard. So check with your DBL about that. If it's a go, then you'll get pretty good at altering your routes.
