I'm going to get a cdl next month but I'm confused where to go, I'm a former trucker and dropped cdl now going back, roehl order paid training but flatbed which is I don't like but I like their home time and in another hand jim palmer offer good miles and pay and don't past Ohio east which is love it. I need to work for who ever paid more but don't know which one is best, any advice will be appreciated

I'd go with Jim Palmer because the starting pay is good. Roehl is a good outfit though.
There's also Millis Transfer which is dry van and only runs eastern half of USA. They have a cdl school in Trenton,OH. They do a lot of beer and soft drink loads and lots of drop & hook.

I've heard Palmer is good and has a good training program.

I'm trying to get into JP/WT now but I'm told they are selective on who they hire. They pull Prime reefer trailers but seem to be more honest than most and the pays good. I haven't seen anything bad about them as as company.

They are selective and I don't know why, I have no speeding ticket nor DUI or any kind of problem but jim palmer told me I'm not fit for their hiring

Jim Palmer isn't the only fish in the sea.
Try FFE (Frozen Food Express) which now recruits Illinois students. I'm not sure if they send you to Texas for school or to a private school in Illinois. Many students aren't familiar with this company, so check the website and apply if you like what you see.
FFE has 16 terminals stretching coast to coast. Miami, FL to Los Angeles, CA and points in between, with one in Illinois. They do some long runs, so probably make some good paychecks.

If you live east of Mississippi River working for Jim Palmer means infrequent home time. They are better for western States & drivers in east with less desire to get home. They do hire from VA, TN, even south FL. Minimum of 3 weeks out before hometime. JP may or not be a good fit for the OP. They appeal to me & it's the company I know most about, besides my current emppoyer.

Do you work for ffe? How's their chicago regional work. I see they pay .35 com and $30 for stop. What's the average mile do they give a week

I don't work there, but I know their drivers get the miles. There's a thread on here somwhere from a driver that just graduated and he's doing great.
