386 Peterbilt quality

I had a 2012 and thought it rode pretty well. Didn't have any build quality issues, the MX engine was another matter...

 

Went the glider route myself, glad I did.

 

I ran a Fitzgerald 386 and it was a good truck except for a lot of road noise very loud inside cab.

 

Yes, Fitzgerald will overnight parts but, it will take them a week to approve the repair.

 

386s are pretty solid trucks. It's the same thing as a 379 except the front wheel is recessed and an aerodynamic hood. IMHO, 386 is best truck on the road. Get one with an isx and 13 speed as a bonus. I should note the ride quality is decent, but there was alot of road noise in my old 2007. Not sure if Pete made this quieter in 8 years. My 2010 387 is much quieter so I can't say for sure on a 2015.

 

I looked but didn't find the pictures posted yesterday thru Facebook:
Guy bought a brand new truck from them, motor #### the bed at 22x,xxx. Tore down the motor and it was all jacked up inside with tons of wear on everything showing clearly low grade parts- guy said he was putting them on blast bc they told him his warranty was up like 5k miles before....

Wish I'd have screenshotted it yesterday.

I've heard people say that before; that their in house rebuilds are pretty poor quality: I can't speak from personal experience as I have never tore any of their products down myself.
