Haulin cattle is not an easy operation to get into. Unlike other forms of transportation of materials, or goods. This is live goods, and unlike other goods, this load moves. Unfortunately you live in an area where this type of business is not in high demand as of those states in the midwest, west coast, and southeast. Research other outfits that haul livestock. The others are right a good place to get started in finding such companies is through feedlots, sale barns. Due to the manner of a Bull Rack trailer set up. You should get familiar with those in the know, and maybe ride with a bull hauler on a day run (if possible). Trailer set up and loading/unloading is another ball game. Let alone you are loading upper, and lower racks in the trailer. Thus, the center of gravity and weight distribution is vital.

Much outside of a guy moving his own couple hogs, there is really no livestock/live stock transport industry in this area what so ever. Which I think is half the reason I would like to do it and be able to get a better understanding. Thank you for that info I do need to get to look at a pot in person.

Personally, I think you'd be better off taking smaller steps. Instead of trying to make the jump from where you are now straight into hauling cattle, try to find something to do with your truck so that you can relocate to where the cattle are and still be making a living. Once you've relocated and have a steady source of income, then start trying to make connections to move into hauling cattle.

In some areas in cattle country, the oilfield is picking up, or you might find other opportunities - even if it means parking your truck and driving for somebody else temporarily. Or working a feedlot, sale, whatever. But, the biggest impediment right now, other than your age, is your location.

You need to line up a steady source of income so that you can move to where the cattle are. After you've done that, then it will be easy to start making contacts in the cattle business. It's all still doable, just involves an additional step.

Sure you can do it but my first question is why do you want to?

Please don't say long hoods, fast trucks, fame and glory. If you like animals, apple pie and cow manure I say get after it.
