hi guys, does anyone have any experience with double star tires ? We have 8 drive tires .. had those installed when we baught the truck and had the truck for about 3 months now. The truck has almost no shake when bobtail, shakes a little when we have the trailer empty, and shakes even more when loaded.. would anyone know if this has anything to do with those chinese tires ? Tnks

Can you jack up the back to spin the tires fast enough to see if they are round?

If not, take a couple off and put them on a balance machine to see if they are round.

One would think that if the tires were at fault, the shake would be worst bobtail and smoother when loaded. How is the ride height? Driveline angles good?

Edit: I see you beat me to it. Did you check ride height loaded and bobtail?

Most Chinese tires are known to be garbage.

They usually aren't round or have issues with Balancing.

Since you don't really know how the truck drove before the new tires were installed, it's now a matter of doing the process of elimination.

The tires most likely are the culprit as when they start getting some weight on them, (such as a empty trailer and then a loaded trailer) the shake becomes noticably and progressively worse because the tires become more distorted and out of round.

Bad tires are tough to diagnose and brand new bad tires ....ahhhhg! TA makes you buy another tire to prove it and then you have to wait for Yoko or whoever to come out and verify for a refund. NEVER again will I try to save money on tires and never again will I buy them far from home.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.
