Hello everyone, just wanting to know if anyone would hire me with a speeding ticket? It was a 76 in a 55. It was classified by the citation as reckless or careless driving. It my first one and only thing on my record. Am I best to stay local or is there hope of a company that will hire me?

Im guessing in your personal vehicle? How old is the ticket? That reckless is going to be tough for you.

TransAm or Carolina Cargo or Carolina Logistics might hire you. They cut lots of slack.

Probably a very slim chance of getting hired. 76 in a 55 is a serious violation on your CDL. Secondly, some insurance companies will not insure a driver with a reckless or carless driving ticket

Anything over 15 over is a big deal in trucking. You might get hired on somewhere but that ticket is likely to change your options.

Why would you choose OTR over local anyway?

CMV or car, that amount of speed over the limit would have our insurance company saying no go on this guy.

it's a good time to remind everyone, keeping your record clean is your full-time job. Having an explanation that may make you feel good is a poor substitute for a clean record. A clean record isn't something that accidentally happens. Reading speed limit signs isn't a minor task to be done if you can't think of something else to do. Everybody makes mistakes but professionals are paid not to make mistakes.

I'm sure you will find a company that will hire you on but... Your choices will be pretty slim and it really won't be a good company.
