Look what happens when this thing takes a corner. The tires of the first two rear axles will slide inwards, and the tires of the last two rear axles will slide outwards. That takes a lot of force to do, and that force has got to come from the front axle. NA trucks have a low load on the front axle, that doesn't help. In my view this is a rather dangerous contraption.
A European truck would most likely have had two front axles, both with more load on them then with NA trucks, and three rear axles. The wheels of the middle of the three rear axles doesn't have to slide, so only the wheels of the other two rear axles have to slide. A much better construction. -
