Its a 2016 westernstar 4900.
Ordered it brand new from the dealer.
Was built at the factory in Portland oregon . The factory installed a detroit reman 14L ddec 4 550hp engine from detroit diesel in the truck.
It was delivered to my home on a low bed and i put the running gear in at my shop.Studebaker Hawk and Ruthless Thank this. -

Thats kinda the whole point.
My choices we're n14 , 12.7 or 14l detroit , or 6nz cat. Any of witch the factory will install.
The 14l was $3500 more over the 12.7 and same price as n14.
The cat was ridiculous at if i remember $12,000 more.
I put together same truck back in 2012 but it has a cat in it running a haney tune.
Both been great! -
At least not a Kenworth. -
You have two choices...from the factory .
1 Powered glider no trans and rears or
2 A rolling glider no engine and trans. -
I seem to remember they also sell them without engine, gearbox and diffs. -
What I was unaware of was that you could get a preemission engine installed at the factory as some have said.Cat sdp Thanks this.
