The freight has stunk and there's barely any confirmed worth taking.

Of course SNI wants it that way so we are forced to haul cheap in order to keep moving.

But that'd be the skepticism in my thinking.

We all know they'd never do that to us.

 

I had a load booked from IN to TX, but it was mysteriously pulled, leaving me SOL

 

I also left out Tuesday, did one load and got VNU on the next due to the load not being there, which almost worked out for the best since I was down and out puking every half hour from a stomach flu most of Wednesday and Thursday.

 

Exactly! I ended up sitting again on Saturday after my load was cancelled and took a crap $200 load today delivering tomorrow morning because there was NOTHING worth running. I'll drop my truck off in Green Bay and toss them the keys before I start hauling 45k loads 150 miles paying $1.25/mi

 

Even looking ahead ahead for next week since Friday has blown.

Again I'm counting the days, granted it'll be next year but I'm in short timer mode.

 

I've got until October, and unless major changes happen , or I find a better company to lease on to, I'll either go back to company driving or get back into my old DOD job if possible.

 

You have to give it to Sni. They have finally proved there is no driver shortage only a decent paying freight shortage. 65℅ of bad freight becomes horrible freight. It worked for a while because it's cool to be able to have the "choice" to run when and where you want but it's pointless if you can make more as a company driver unless your more like a semi retired hobby driver.
I was told that the company side is hurting so bad for driver's that they have all but stopped hiring on the choice side with the exception of a few company guys that transfer over. But I have been hearing this for a year not sure I'm buying it.
The program is clearly oversaturated. I also commented on all the idle bobtails at the OC and he told me I ought to see the other two lots down the road. They are full too. I didn't even know they had two other lots.
I'm still optimistic that this will turn out to be a really good year, but it's tough sledding right now to say the least.
