Went to customer and they took the load at 9pm. So now I'm sitting empty at Petro by Toledo. Glad to get empty early, with this weather hitting. Hope to get a good jump on tomorrow. Who knows where I'm going.
Boss actually called me up while I was getting loaded earlier, and had another load already lined up for the morning, but wasn't sure if I was interested, so he ran it by me before he booked it. It was Ohio to Atlanta, GA for I think $1400? I said I'll probably take my chances in the morning to see what was out there. Not sure what Atlanta market is like but boss said it was $1.25 maybe coming back north. So I passed. See what's out there in the morning.
Still waiting for my $4,000 load to ArizonaRoad Killer and SoDel Thank this. -
Still waiting on those truck and trailer pics......Road Killer and BoyWander Thank this. -
I prefer the J across the street there. Good Denny's....
Road Killer Thanks this. -
Matter of opinion. I can't tolerate the amount of sodium that's in any given Iron Skillet or Country Pride, so Denny's it is. Fast food doesn't count as real food, either. I much prefer IHOP, but I've only found two attached to truckstops, and I can only get fuel at one of those.
And have you tried the Tilapia Ranchero at Denny's? Mmmm.....BoyWander and HalpinUout Thank this. -
Road Killer Thanks this.

Unless you have direct customers around philly you might want to check the rates before you head east. I've seen coyote post loads for $800 to Chicago and they'll be gone in 10 minutes.
Road Killer, Bean Jr. and BoyWander Thank this. -
Boss got me a great load. Ohio to MD, $1900. Unloading now. Broker said it was 9pm delivery, hot load. Shipper didn't get me out til 2pm, so 9pm was out of the question. Got here at 10:30 just north of Baltimore. Customer said my load was TOMORROW night's load - I was like...umm....no.
So I whipped out the part from the rate con sheet that showed the broker's appt time they set, and asked them if there was a storage facility around. So they took the load and told me I didn't have to pay the lumper fee.
As a bonus, there is parking here for trucks. So that's cool. Otherwise, I don't know what I'd do...I hate east coast. Hoping to get a halfway decent load out tomorrow. Boss said maybe Denver. Not sure what pays anything in Baltimore area going back west. $158 in tolls to get here, 5.5mpg on the fuel, was heavy and hilly and windy, so that sucks, and maybe truck's just breaking in. Hopefully 5.5mpg won't be the norm. But the pay on this load was good enough to make it worth it. Just want to get out of here in the morning ASAP.flatbeb mac, Road Killer, Lepton1 and 2 others Thank this. -
@BoyWander ...you making me proud bro, and I've never even met you...
MarkH129, Road Killer, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this.
