ACC is great thing, do you think yours dont work or you want to say daf acc dont work?
our work great, can start truck from standstill but it is option-not free like on other trucks,
aba4 is option too, regular aebs, lgw and esp free as laws require it

traction control is serial equipment for years, DAF used to be little bit slow with accepting technology in early late90s and 2000s

you almost cant buy truck without ASR, EBS, ECAS, so you dont pay for it, it is mass produced and dont cost a lot
in very special cases you will get truck without ASR (TC) (AWD trucks with permanent drive)

EBS too, since from this year you need some safety devices even on offroad 3axle trucks, it is not possible to get 3axle truck without EBS, so it makes no sense to make 4 or 5axles without considering that production of system without would cost you more.....
our trucks all have ebs since 2011, versions without were dropped as nobody buy them....

if you want drum brakes on offroad trucks you need to pay for them

Yeah those 12v shoe box sized ones can be tilted. When they start making one big enough to hold more than an afternoon snack i might buy one.

well you dont need to worry about tilting cab, everything driver needs is under front grille, workshop needs to tilt cab, and iveco driver too as their dip is under cab and their electronic oil level monitoring often dont work

that with windshield actually happened to me 9-10years ago,i stored all stuff in cab and while i was removing some stuff behind seat and under bed... that were no longer necessary in cab, i have forget to lock seat ( on this truck you can unlock seat from floor at rear side and tilt it forward if you need.... and backrest fall on windshield that cost me 90$

Just because it is standard equipment does not mean it is free. I'll buy from the company who will make trucks that fit my needs and not add on a bunch of stuff i don't want but have to pay for.

Well folks this is a perfect example of our differences. Our salesman friend can't get that some of us actually work on or trucks and don't send it off to the dealer work every time it needs service or repair.

Bean Jr. and AModelCat Thank this.

electronics in production dont cost a lot, most expensive truck computer i have heard of is 75USD , usually most of them are in range of 2-3 dollars, of course that charge them more to you, but once those things become standard their price drop a lot,

ESP+AEBS+LGW were some 800€, after they become mandatory price drops to 300€ , now this is serial, because all countries have it mandatory

it is just number of units that define prices, normally once in past disc brakes and ebs was option if i remember right this was 10 000DEM or today 5000€ on scania,MB put it as serial, over time it become normal, now if you want drums you need to pay because of quantities

soon or latter this would be required by law or insurance companies

So they use a power inverter and run regular household voltage? Or is it 24v?

once again to my senile memory friend spyder, i am not salesman
i have spend many days working around our trucks, to remind you my family deal with trucks since 1958

cabover with raised cab have much better access over anything on truck , including gearbox ( if it is tractor/tipper, rigids become rare these days)

few pages before you have stated about work on longline, and you are right with longer cab it become bit more complicated than now , as some shops have cranes adapted to get engine out straight from above, some shops have cranes that get engine out from side, or from ground
