@AbbandonZK, you are currently based in Phoenix, but are you willing to relocate? If you move east of the Rockies you can definitely stay clear of California.
How many years experience do you have?

If I'd move I'd be to KS, MO or OK. I'll have 2 years come June.Lepton1 Thanks this.

OK has oilfield work. I jumped from the hell of being a dock banging door swinger right into flatbed, with a grand total of 1 hour orientation and two unpaid ride alongs. It wasn't quite cold turkey. I studied the Bible of securement and had lots of help from fellow drivers and TTR.
In the oilfield it's rare to tarp. Mostly straps and some chains. Plenty of fun on dirt roads. Home most nights or days.MJ1657, AbbandonZK and Chewy352 Thank this. -
I'm almost positive we (Smokey Point Distributing) don't hire from Phoenix but we do have a yard in Wichita Kansas. That's where I run out of and I think it might be the busiest yard in the whole company. We run all over which is a plus to me. In the last three weeks I have been from south Carolina to Washington state and I will be in Laredo by Monday.
If you don't like tarping almost everything, multi stop loads, and long loads with tight deadlines this isn't the place for you. If you don't mind those things you can do well and make a #### good living here.
Feel free to PM me if you want some more info. -
