Actually your generation created the millennials, you wanted to be best friends with your kids, just like Jason Seaver and Mike, you were the generation that decided to give your little created pals participation ribbons and you gave them everything they wanted.
    And they turned out ok,

I hope that the OP will return, I tried to be nice. But this industry has made me hard in some ways. Im such a softie. But you would not believe it sometimes.

I was thinking about the following to car and beating on windows etc, that is assault simple. among other possible charges.

Not that long ago here in Arkansas B&B Concrete boss threatened me over a simple 6 o clock arrival. 5 minutes to 6 is what was required nothing more nothing less. He has the keys to the plant there is no point in gathering up the paystar, transtar or whatever it was at 4 am and rolling to Hope to get cement for him. After he made bad words towards me with intent, I knew he crossed a line I rarely ever see people cross. And those are the ones you take around behind the party row and first blood ends it. No police no court no nothing.

That did not happen. That was my last day there and just as well, trainee showed up to drive the killa truck and I warned him briefly what to expect of it and I don't think he worked there that long either once he discovered why there were so many new rivets in teh cab floor. When future companies put me to work hiriing, they asked and I told em, I moved on. My truck tried to kill me and that was that for poor equiptment. I don't need that in life. When they got interested and asked for the short story, I simply said no one trains in school or experience expecting to have your boots through the floor riding on the frame rails looking at the highway rolling by below a foot lower than anything. That was enough to put me into a nice new truck that time. I enjoyed it.

Yeah. I don't doubt you but ime, no one has ever cursed me or my truck.

I think it has a lot to do with how I come across. I'm not very friendly. I don't make small talk. I don't smile too much. I'm there bc it's my job. The person I'm dealing with has a job too. I get right to the point: "where do I need to go?" "Who signs this?"

I don't joke. I don't want to be friends. I don't gaf about football or the weather.

And most importantly, I never apologize for stuff that's not my fault.

If you say sorry, try to be buddy buddy, etc you are opening yourself up to someone thinking they can take out their problems, anger, frustrations on you.

No shipper/ receiver has ever given me anything but the dock door number and directions to it. That's all I need in this job.

ive had guys tell me I'm early and I just tell them the truth, "dispatch told me to be here now." They have two options 1) unload me now or 2) tell me to come back later.

I'm not very popular at my stops but you know what? I don't care. Do my job and get out. If everyone just did their jobs, everything would go so much better.

I been fired from last 3 jobs over the past 35 years. Previous employers can only acknowledge that I worked there. They cannot say anything negative about me, thats slander!
