popped a intercooler boot clamp yesterday.

    oh,forgot the other part,the clamp fell down in between the AC pulley and compressor body,so it was making this weird loud screech too.

    I had it happen a few years back climbing a hill outside of Nashville. At the time didn't keep clamps that big in my truck. Even tried a good ole metal close hanger and vice grips to get by. Ended up calling roadside where I was charged 210 dollars for a generic hose clamp that was only good enough to get me to a TA where I bought a real clamp. I keep 2 of them in my truck now. Lesson learned:(

    If you coat the inside of the hose where it is going to contact the pipe with dish soap it makes the hose slide on easily, and then ends up acting like a mild glue so that the chance of the hose blowing off of the pipe is greatly reduced.

    Both times I have had it happen the clamp broke. It's amazing how much pressure is on it. Guess that's why It sounds like a steer blowing when it happens. I was just glad to see a hose blown off and not oil everywhere. That noise is scary.
