Trust me I wanted out but it was 0300 before I could move out of my spot. I cannot adequately describe the lunacy that took over that truck stop and it lasted for 12 solid hours. Wrecks, stuck trucks all made worse by the limited amount of snow clearing that Loves was able to do...
So anyhow, I got out about 0300 like I said and boy what a nightmare. First was the fog. I can handle that, but the further up Hwy 20 I got the worse the roads became. Finally, after covering 70 miles in a little over 2 hours, I got to Juntara and had to stop. There are about a dozen trucks pulled over here because the Hwy is a solid, 2 inch thick sheet of ice. When the sun gets up I'll post a pic of it. Was talking with another driver parked here and he said his chains were useless, said in 30 years he'd never seen ice this hard. I will wait on the sun to get up, burn off the fog and then I'll hit it again. For now, I'm going to take a nap.Airborne, passingthru69, Big Don and 3 others Thank this. -
That's a snowplow up on the right...even he's given up.

Made it to Hines and it hit again. OHP shunted me into a Sinclair. Locals.say heavy snow until 1500. Expecting a foot plus.
