This winter reminds me of the winter of '83 I think it was, at least as far as the Inland Empire (the area east of the Cascades). We had two months below freezing temperatures in the IE. It was great for myself and my friends. Every weekend we drove from Seattle to Cooley City, WA and spent the weekend climbing frozen waterfalls on the basalt cliffs, seepages from the wheat fields that formed free hanging ice formations from 3-12' in diameter and sometimes hundreds of feet high.

We got tight with the ice fishermen at the tavern at night.

Heck I'll be home in Thailand before he ever gets this round done. Oh and the only ice we get comes in our drink cups

I hope you do, bud. The 20 looks like an ice skating rink in some stretches.

A whole new round of snow is affecting the I5 corridor again in the Shasta area.

I'm glad I'm home and could give a crap. Enjoyed watching the inaugural events yesterday, all except the a-holes who were burning and breaking stuff.

Well I do hope you can get out of there. Seems this has been a rough go on this trip. Hope they can find some way to help take the slack out of it.

On other things, for the greater wasatch front and cascades, the weather guessers have placed snow in the forcast for the next several days. temps should be warmer than we have seen of late, upper 20's to low 30's. some areas will be lower than that, however I am good at seeing the positive temps.
-4 in the morning trying to get your truck started can be a pain, takes so long to get up to op temp.

    Airborne Thanks this.

The guys who run Donner & the Columbia Gorge all the time must be getting road weary.

I was thinking about Broken Down 69er this morning and remembered this movie scene ;-)

Airborne and Broke Down 69 Thank this.
