Farthest east I go is Ohio and Michigan. Usually run a load up there, shoot over to Channahon IL and grab a load down to Bowling Green KY then back to Winder.
You will mostly stay in the mid-west and south. I asked to stay out an extra week this round because I was sick last week and missed a few days. Running a load out of Morris IL down to Texas. Then a load out of Texas over to Florida the rum empty back to Winder. Will be back by next Thursday eve or Friday a.m. in time for Superbowl Sunday.Adrienna Brown and iono12345 Thank this. -
Quick update on the orientation pay. I looked at my check stub yesterday and they actually paid me $160 per day. Total of $480 for the 3 days.
So I don't know if the guy teaching just assumed we all got the same or if dispatchers got less than drivers. I don't know but anyway, if your a driver you will get $160 per day plus the $50 cash for dinner meals so that puts you at a total of $530 paid to you for 3 days. I won't complain about that.Adrienna Brown, Crusader66 and QualityMike Thank this. -
I need to put some information in here about Groendykes equipment, trucks specifically.
They used to have pretty much all International 9400's. They have gotten rid of the majority of them. If you still see a few around, they are probably spares.
Most the fleet has been replaced with Freightliner Cascadia's and the Peterbilts with the slopes hoods (can't recall the number). I think the Peterbilts are issues to the drivers that have beem here longest. I myself am in a Freightliner, 2014 model without all the safety junk on it. It developed some egr issues so I swapped trucks into a newer one for a bit. It had all that safety junk on it. Drove me nuts. So as soon as my 2014 was repaired I got back in it.
All the trucks are very roomy. Plenty of storage space. All of them come with a 2000/2500 inverter installed and ready to use.
They also have Espar bunk heaters that will run you out of the truck. Overall the trucks seem pretty nice and ride good. Most are 10 speeds but all the newer trucks they are ordering will be 12 speed automatics. I drove an automatic for a few days when I started here. They don't seem all bad. Especially in Atlanta traffic!Last edited: Jan 27, 2017

What does Groendyke look at as far as accidents are concerned? I applied to the Albuquerque location a few times and got denied on each occasion. Been driving tankers clean for the past, five years now. No accidents and the only one that seems to be affecting me is a rollover I had nearly ten years ago.
Another roadblock I've seem to run into with certain companies is employment verification for a 1099 employer I suffered through back in 2008. The place still has an active phone number, but it just rings off the hook endlessly. I was told I'd have to go through the IRS to get the submitted 1099 forms, but the IRS gave me the runaround.
Other companies don't have an issue with that out-of-business company. But my foray into HAZMAT hauling has been a no-go due to these two issues it seems. -

My employment history was okay up until the last couple years. I hopped jobs (not intentionally) last year and the year before. I was afraid that would look kind of ugly to potential companies out here but apparently it had no bearing on Groendyke hiring me. As long as you can get hold of those 1099s I would think that should not be an issue.
Best thing to do is give them a call. I have a number for the talent office if you want me to pm it to you.bentstrider83 Thanks this. -
My guess is it is just a matter of time before all these companies go this route.Adrienna Brown and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
