again no company is perfect but a decent size company that knows you by name and learn how you like running is always a plus

Im buying a truck and doing my own thing. The company i work for is good but im in the 5 boroughs all day doing pick up and delivery in a tractor trailer.. So i figured if im going to be risking my license and sanity i might as well do it my way.. If i can take home 2000 a week after expenses i will be ok.. I plan on getting my own authority and trying to do produce loads for produce brokers.. One step at a time but definitly dont wanna stay just doing intermodal, but i gotta start somewhere right... If I have my own truck. And Iam just starting.Who is the best company out of Florida for hauling containers? Or should I go straight to the rail yards /ports.
What Iam asking is it better to drive my own truck under a company or go my self and be a contractor ?

I dont know about in Florida but in my opinion out here in New Jersey Intermodal is pretty much a last resort if you cant lease on to anybody else.. I ran Intermodal for about Six weeks from December of 2016 to Mid January and i abandoned ship because i saw no profit.. For example i went from South Kearny N.J. to Watkins Glen N.Y. with an empty container 250 miles one way, picked up a HEAVY load of salt and dropped it off in North Bergen N.J. That was a 500 mile round trip, and got paid $680 Dollars including Fuel Surcharge and Tolls.. After Fuel, Tolls, And Delay time it was not worth it... And i got the hell out FAST..! Blessed to say i found a place where i get a load going and a load coming back and the rates are decent to where i see alot of profit.. Good Luck..
