Would you have any examples of something that would be a good fit? I've literally spent 10 weeks researching online and have put threads on a half dozen different forums. I didn't get any participation until now... I like the Mack Granites which have a 20k front end on a lot of them but turn radius is quite large and a comparable Granite is 20-30k more. I guess I just wasn't able to find much with an automatic tranny that doesn't have a million miles on them. I should also mention, that I don't really want to spend the entire winter flying around the country to look at trucks in other states.... idk this is my first time, maybe it would be worth it? But airplane tickets can add up fast if your only booking a day in advance, and I don't have 6 months or a year to find a truck.
As I mentioned, I've been working on this daily for a couple months now. Just on face value, the truck I think is a decent deal for the vintage and miles on it. Also being a local truck, sold new at this shop and maintained here its whole life.
The only kink in the whole project is that I just got news yesterday that all of the equipment going in the box is typically more than the 34k we're allowed in MN on the rear. None of the other guys are running double frame. I know of a ton of other trucks doing this exact type of work but they're all in states that allow 44k-50k on the rear tandems.
New to me Pinnacle

$42,000 CXU613
$5500 day cab it with paint
$7500 stretch frame from 221 WB to 260-270
Adds up to $53,000 which I think is a decent amount less than a comparable Granite? Which I don't think I really need the 20K front axle anyway.... All of the other guys doing this work have 10k and 12k front axles, they just are allowed more on the rear in the states that they work.Another Canadian driver and Cat sdp Thank this. -
Here is what looks to be a comparable tractor with similar miles etc. It has the 14,600 front axle, but they're asking $14,000 more than the truck I'm dealing on.

I don't think the price is bad..... Just a lot of work to reconfigure the truck.
