I don't know why the bill of lading didn't click before, the site provides one when you accept the load.

I have no interest in promoting the site and folks certainly have their notions about it but I will say that in terms of finding loads, it's a 10 minute process to log in, put your origin and destination, and see if any offers appeal to you. If they don't, log off. If they do, click accept and wait for the customer to contact you.

But again, not trying to change anyone's mind and thanks for the insight on why most of y'all avoid using the site.

And yes, that show is pretty ridiculous:confused:

I always wondered why you would want to be on that show bidding the rates DOWN and be proud that you did. If I would have ever ran into one of those people from that show, I wouldn't recognize them if I would see them, only seen a couple episodes before it made me sick, I would knock them in the head for driving down rates. Butch of darn idiots.

He does not do the because he already has cigarette money. You are talking about stuff that picks and drops normally in residential areas.

What do you mean by cigarette money? If a truck was going that way anyway.....

If near or in a residential area, wouldn't that be the same as moving companies that go through there? Or just meet 'em at a Walmart or big box store...

Alternate load sources are out there, it sounds like the general opinion in this thread though is everyone has a better source of income and/or see the customer interaction/hoops as a waste of time.

Imho uship fees are too high for what they do. The also double dip on the fees. Also most people on uship have no way to load a truck. I've hauled maybe 5 pieces of equipment from that site. All were real pos's. Customers had no clue and were no help. To me that site is more headache then anything else!

Who says anything about there not being enough load sources out there? Do you think u-ship is the only place to get a partial? Another thing... in a perfect world things always work out great in theory. In the real world when you're out there needing something is a different matter altogether. That partial going to PA you mentioned might be great for someone with a purpose and plan in going there. For someone else it might be useless. Not everyone is a gypsy trucker going in random directions where ever freight may go. Some people have a plan and work it.

You should buy a truck and make a living with it. Do that, then come back here and tell us how many uship loads it took to pay the bills

Don't do Uship. Cargo Depot is much better. That's what i do for a livin. Great to see another driver take the plunge. I'm 27 and got my first rig last year. I was on uship for a while but I got tired of being underbid 1 dollar a mile by 2 rednecks and a 1982 F250

My experiences were about the same, it's mostly regular folks that want something moved but don't understand the full process or why one guy can't move a 400 lb assembled treadmill to the 2nd floor by himself. After a couple of those experiences I started looking for stuff with wheels that was light and able to roll....
