LMAO Nooooooo. I'll take my laptop in the truck. The upgrades for the tower are going to be for at home. I'm going to be moving to a Fractal Define R5 and I'll be running EKWB components for the water system. Right now I have a Corsair R200 which doesn't have the space in the top for a rad and a Corsair H60 sealed loop.

Though if I ever buy my own truck I'd probably be tempted to build the PC INTO the truck and route the water all over the place just for yits and giggles :D[/QUOTE]

Don't want to hijack this thread, but look into the NZXT Source 530. I have it and it's an incredible case with all kinds of room.

Exactly........a good nights rest. No company driver is cruising a 50' tv with sat hook up. Unless you live on the road why not just do your job and then play on your off time; because as long as you are in that truck you are on company time and property. Show them respect where it is due. When you are the boss and make enough money to play games and drive a truck, then find a pc that is durable enough to handle being in a truck and do what you want. Then you wont be asking the veterans what kind to pc they have run in their truck. Huge difference in a 2 hour movie vs 2 hours of Halo. No disrespect intended. I like games too but i cant do em on the road because everybody gets carried away and caught up in the moment. If you are a true gamer then you are in a clan on some game and have certain times to do things with you buds. It just doesnt work with this industry until you are on a reset.

If you can't game on the road, then that's your choice. I play games all the time on the road, but again your assuming things...

I don't play online or even Wifi as it can get crazy slow. So all of my games are single player off line.
As for company time... I don't want to work for the company you do. The 10 hours a day that you have off is considered YOUR time, not the companies... Even the military, which I served for 24 years, doesn't do that. (within reason of course)
I work for a company where we wear uniforms, have grooming standards, all the standard equipment we all drive, etc... but they do not care what I bring with me or what I do on my 10, as long as I do not break, burn down, or misuse company equipment. The truck I drive is my apartment, not my home. I live in it more than I do at home sometimes... why not make it comfortable for yourself?

So I'll leave this comment.... let the person who started this thread and the people who made meaningful comments to it decide what they do on there time off. Time management is part of this industry, let ME figure out whats best for me.

Oh and the guy I was talking about with the 50" TV... Yea, he drives a company truck as well

Apparently I'm not grown up yet even at 56.
I bring my laptop with me for business and play, I'm mostly a console player but I invested in a mid range gaming laptop:
    Asus 17in ram24 gtx980m 4gig 256ssd/1thhd with g- sync got it for 1250.00 refurbished
so I could enjoy my fps shooter games( single player) on the road.

I only use an m.2 ssd in my itx build currently so I should be good there. Padding under it will be no problem either since it has no undercarriage vents or intakes

Thanks grandpa, but this will be for auto cad, not gaming. If you can't offer advice offer silence.

980m and gsync is still a high range set up. Sweet price too. My current laptop was over 3 grand and still struggling with auto cad and 3dsoft

I own (not leased, not making payments ) my truck, if you can't offer advice on topic please leave. This is experienced truckers advice, not old tired man's opinions.

I appreciate the helpful input. I'm just going to try it.

Ps: if you think playing pc games will make you tired you should put your phone down according to your own advice. Cause you're either eating your own words or playing on your phone while driving. unless you're at home, and that is super sad to me.
