I had a 4 wheeler tail me into a closed weigh station on I-35 when I was on my way back from Kansas doing one of my load checks. They took off as soon as I came towards the back of my trailer with load bar in one hand and rubber mallet in the other. Not sure if they thought I was crazy or if they were just done with whatever they were doing.tinytim and SingingWolf Thank this.

I can see where seeing that could be a bit unnerving!

I had it explained to me one time while getting a level 1 in Billings. I had asked him about zipping past the barn or did we have to stay at 15 mph. He said that he would rather see us merge at speed so mash her down.
In this whole conversation he stated that he hated when trucks would come in after they had closed the scales because they were usually outside. He said that there was a reason for them closing it. Could be as simple as having a truck reweighed.
Sign says closed, stay away. An old driver that I know says that even the army knows better than to drive into a known ambush.Loose Leaf, Big Don and wore out Thank this. -
This past Saturday I come into Oklahoma from Arkansas on i40, weigh station sign said "truck must enter weigh station" prepass gave me the green light. It was open cause there was trucks on the scale and state Police in the house. I rolled past checking in my mirror waiting to get lit up.
I71 sb Kentucky scale just as you come off the i75/i71 interchange, past few weeks when it's closed it's still giving red lights on the prepass with a closed sign. Twice now the county sheriff was posted up there taking pictures. I'll go through then just to be safe -
The red blinky light is the old school ezpass. The new version that goes through the qualcomm shows a log that you were given a bypass or pull in message.

We don't have Prepass or the QC/Peoplenet thing. Lights are on, go in. Lights are off, roll on by. Hasn't got me chased down yet.
cnsper Thanks this. -
lol, had a 4 wheeler follow me in one time. One of those left lane one's in Wisconsin. Darn slow truck in the hammer lane, I'll tailgate him!
Wouldn't pass me once we got back on the highway.
