Came in yesterday morning and truck was still in shop, so go talk with dispatch and basically get told you gotta be in ny before 9pm.....go get a spare.

So do that and make my 3 case street delivery in manhattan on broadway. The qc in this truck makes no noise so i didnt realize i got a preplan before i made it to my delivery. Original plan had been if i couldnt find easy street parking was to head to brooklyn bc i knew i could find it there. Really didnt want to leave nyc just to have to come back in.

So snuck off to the pu in new jersey. Sat view showed space, a dead end road, and no fences so parked there.

Got woken up around 8am told to get in door, later told product not ready go wait. In the door again but i think product is still being made. Load drops north of richmond when i get it there.

Arvin CA. Carrots. 43500 pounds of them. Woo hoo!! Should be fun trying to pull that since they didn't fix my truck when it was in the shop. (Imagine that!) Hopefully, I can get out of the dock! At least I can camp out here for the night. I'm completely out of hours. Not that they're slow or anything, because they seem to be pretty quick. Taco truck on site. Might think about that for dinner. Smells amazing.

Welp, 4.5 months after getting out of training, I think they've finally taken the training wheels off.

Up 'til now, my load assignments have been low-impact. "Leisurely", you might say. Plenty of time on the loads, no need to drive my full clock, etc.

Last two loads have been quite the opposite. I've had to drive out my clock, leaving 30 minutes or less on it by the time I parked for the night, and had to be on the road as soon as my 10 was up.

But I made it on time for my Monday delivery, and I'll make it on time for my delivery tomorrow, so I think I'm doing pretty good. I've parked here in Fulton, MO, three hours away from my delivery in Overland Park, KS. I'll be hitting the road tomorrow at 4:00am local time to make it there by 7:00am for my 8:00am delivery.

It's a Hill-Phoenix load, and I'm taking it to a grocery store under construction. My various GPSes are complaining that the only road which leads to the store is restricted, and that no trucks are allowed. Dunno how they expect me to deliver the load without going down that street, so hopefully the GPSes are out of date.

You can scale out on their scale at the guard shack. They'll do an axle weight for you.

Yup. Did that and made a u-turn right back in to sleep until morning. Nice folks here. Didn't do the taco truck, though.

Enjoy your vacation. I'm sure you'll be thinking about all of us just slaving away while you're gone!

You were one of those too, huh?:)

If I'd known 10 years later I'd be playing the same games at home on a Playstation, I would've saved a hell of a lot of money.

My GPS would sometimes tell me that about roads leading to a Truck Stop... LOL

If it's new construction, the maps are probably not updated and there are or have been several trucks on those roads in recent days.
