If you are willing to go to arkansas, This is a good school.

    ASU Newport

A number of the companies you have mentioned hire from this school.

I have no experience first hand. But they are kinda like swift for flatbeds. Before swift had flatbeds. They do generally teach you how to tarp well though. And you'll do a pile of it with them. Just don't believe everything thing the recruiter tells you.

Tmc is along the same lines as Melton or crst in my opinion. There are worse out there, but there are lots better

I like your way of thinking.
Grand daddy taught me a similar lesson.
"If you do the same things you've always done, your going to get the same results you've always gotten."

I'd rather not do crst they run all teams according to the recruiter. I thought melton was also good, or do they tend to be good for beginners in flatbed

I agree with most on this site.
I started of in dry van, but figured, no offense to anyone here, but that was an old man's job.
That's that job for the guy who's been out here 30+ years.
He's earned that right and paid his dues to sit on his butt and swing two doors on occasion.
Switched to flatbed, absolutely love it. Been doing it almost 14 years now.
If you really want to go to school, you will find a way.
You can't stop the stone, once it starts to roll.

They are all going to be about the same. They are mega fleet training companies. You'll be gone 3 or 4 weeks at a time. Make little money and more or less pay your dues. Once that's done you'll move on. They are going to be just like mega van fleets. Except you'll be pulling a skateboard. I'm not saying don't do it, I just don't want you to go in blind.

I definitely understand thats part of what's drawn me to flatbed. My uncles mostly suggested starting with kllm just to get my feet wet so to speak

If you can pull a flat you can pull a van. It doesn't necessarily work the other way. If flat's are what you want go to it.
