As some of you know I started out working for Swift Transportation which I went through their CDL School as well. Just recently I went through the company site to locate my Official Hire & Seperated dates so when I fill out applications my dates are in order. Swift has my Hire date as 03/09/2016 & my separated date as 06/04/2016. I left Swift in April because I didn't like being OTR & away from
Family so I came to Schneider pulling tanks as a regional driver. My Hire date with Schneider is 05/23/2016. I have no idea why Swift has my seperated date in their system as 06/04/2016 maybe because I left & they thought I was coming back to work for them, which I didn't. So my question is should I be honest when I put the dates on a new application from Swift to only show a month of employment or should I "lie" and try for 2 months? Just curious. I couldn't put down that I stayed until 06/04/2016 because then I'm sure they employer would want to know how I was employed by Swift and working for Schneider at the same time. Any Advice?? I don't mind waiting my full year but just curious as to what others think or would do.

Swift probably still considered you an employee.
I would show employment at Swift ending the day before you started with Schneider.

I was thinking this exact same thing! Would that be a coincident that I started Schneider the next day? Or is that only if the employer asks?

No coincidence. You didn't like Swift. You looked for another job. You found one, went to work there the next day.

    Chinatown and Thull Thank this.

    Job hopping again?

A month or so with Swift and then a few more months with the other big 'S'.
How long will it be when you can not confirm any dates on any application?

    Chinatown, that is bad advice.
Thull can provide pay statements that show his employment with Swift, and Swift can not provide otherwise.
    He should simply be honest.

Everyone seems to want a workaround to simply say what is true and honest.
    Why is that?
Say what is true, and let the chips fall!

You know thinking about it I may of as well but I'm bad at keeping paperwork so unless I had the date handy I would of just put down the 1st never been questioned about it don't know if any companies I worked for had apps that were by the day... Only way I could find d out is to fill out another... I would have fun with the recruiter from my current company lol

I wouldn't say job hopping but my plan from the beginning was to get a year then be local. It took 2 companies to do so, so yea.:p I was planning to stay 1 full year with Schneider because I thought other Tanker companies would want 1 full year of Tanker experience but now that I'm looking at different companies all they want is 1 year of driving experience. So 9 months with Schneider & A month with Swift would only leave me 2 months to go! Unless of course I "lied" & got an extra month from Swift. But either way after a year I'm trying to be local Hauling tanks!:D
