Well I hope it does work for you, and that you keep us informed on how things are working for you. There's a thin line between failure and success, hope you land on the latter......Good luck driver

    Well here it goes,
DB guys are nice, laid back and friendly.
They definitely seem to educate drivers on tricks of the trade and what to look out for. I've seen what each truck goes through, in regards to repair/rebuilds.
They have several places that do their work but they do final touches and full design, and also seen some changed after it was built because it didn't look rite to db. I'd say 100% of all trucks get everything rebuilt and or replaced from the radiators to rears ends and brakes, air lines etc on top of complete drive train. So yeah they are expensive for old trucks but they've been gone through and come with warranty unlike the majority of regular lease purchase trucks companies have on the lot, (unless it's a new truck lease) so an old truck fully restored is better in my eyes then one that hasn't been and soon down the road repairso will start adding up fast and repairs can break a driver starting out as an O/O.
I've done 2 runs so far easy as he'll, just have to learn how to shift with liquid bulk, the tidal wave sneaks up on you lol.
Trust, you won't get rich owning a truck, I don't care what your hauling, there ups and downs in this industry but from the guys I've talked to here the lowest averaged 186k for the year and the highest was 228k, it definitely depends on the terminal and how long you want to stay out, you won't make #### going home everyday, but there are dedicated runs where that could happen and still make it.
    So in closing...
It's early but there is money here if you run and are friendly to others. Will I be here forever, one only knows, if I get bored maybe get my bank to assume the lease and I go elsewhere, but my 5 yr plan is to pay off truck and either keep it running or sell it and invest in properties. but the work is easier than freight, less boring, and customers can't wait for the load, they're happy to see you unlike wherehouses that can care less.
1 more thing, I hate emmision engines, I wouldn't buy one if my life depended on it, they are money pits....another reason why I went with DB, I got a 6NZ:) cat.
A Fitzgerald is sweet to, hard to get with a cat now, they are pushing Detroit, also they require a big down payment like buying a new truck, here at db it reversed, you pay the balloon at the end. Which is good because I didn't have 30k to put down.

New or rebuilt pumps and compressors along with air hose, qc gives you new pump hoses and fittings. And all loads are 45k or less, the 2 I pulled and the ones I pulled while training was only 42k.
Qc knows all weights, they are the most safety minded company I been with, it's ridiculous. Speed is the 1 thing that'll get you fired, anything over 80 Mph

What is the average fuel mileage with your 6NZ travelling at 65 to 70?

Hello ladies and gentlemen. It has been awhile, but I have been busy - enjoying life in and out of QC. I received my 1 year hat last week, and I can not believe a year has zipped by already. Kind of makes next year look real positive. Still loving my DB Kustom truck. I forged some awesome relationships with drivers, terminals, and customers. The ever important balance of home and money has settled in nicely too. In summary; if you live in the right area, join the right terminal, and have the right attitude you will enjoy the ride at QC. Regardless of where you buy your truck.

Yes I do run for the best terminal, so that helps. I have heard horror stories about communication with other terminals. So, lets start here. Terminal location is not important to the relation of where you live. Join a terminal any terminal and get started. Go go go. Over time, and not a few weeks either, you will learn where the terminals ship to and from. What terminals have as dedicated, out and backs, regional, and long haul. Even though there is no load board, no one keeps the loads a secret. While you are learning the vast QC way, enjoy it. If you have consistent communication problems - first ask yourself if you are a stubborn know it all horses rear end and no one wants to deal with you. They have caller ID. If that is not the case, find out if it is phone calls or emails that get quicker and better responses. They are not going to change their ways just for you. If they prefer emails and you do not like to email, I suggest you learn to email real quick. Once you learn what terminal has what then transfer to the terminal that fits yo best. But first give your terminal a chance, keep the communication open, and understand they deal with 20 to 100 drivers a day. I promise you are not the most important driver they have - none of us are.

Tare weights and gross. It is not that QC doesn't care - you just can not get that nice paying load if you are too heavy. We have plenty of loads that weigh more than 45,000 and they pay well. I can legally gross 46,600 and axle out.

DB Kustom trucks are nice trucks. Dave, Dan, and CJ Brown are 3 extremely nice guys. WIth that said - our DB Ttrucks are not going to run the full five years without preventive maintenance. Not just talking about oil and filter changes. When my truck gets the sniffles I take her to the doctor, before she gets pneumonia. Owning a DB truck is awesome, I am not going to lie, but where we work is QC. QC is where our money comes from, and either ING or Crossroads has your loan. You are leasing a truck like you would a car from a car dealership. It is being reported to your credit, and we want people who want to succeed at running their own business.

If you live in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, the only way you are getting home is via airplane or rental car. There are very few loads that go to those areas. The loads that go through those areas have a delivery appointment, so blow the horn as you go past the house - cause you can not stop. That area is good for guys who like to be gone from home, then catch a plane, train, or automobile to get home for a visit once every few months.

I fully recommend a DB Kustom truck if you can afford it, and I fully recommend Quality Carriers. I am fully responsible for my failures, and I fully accept responsibility for them. Which is why I am enjoying success at Quality Carriers with my DB Kustom truck.

    RIde easy out there brothers

They do not whine, because it is the truck getting screwed. If you can't haul the weight they will not offer you the load. I have hauled my share of 46k + pound loads, and they were worth it. :D
