So here's how things went down. I was waiting on some Five Guys Burgers at 615 on a Friday night when my phone pulls up a number. I'm thinking , " Georgia? Another trucking company. " ignore. It calls again so I pick it up. Why not. Its my trainer telling me she's at my terminal waiting for me. What? My coordinator didn't tell me ####. So I apologize and haul ### to the terminal but she's already gone when I get there. Its new York. Its freezing. I'm outside , hauling a camping bag, a tactical bag, my binder and my anxiety because I font want to be waiting around forever. I finally decided to wait in the drivers lounge , then went to my car. I waited 5 hours before she showed up. She gave me the run down, asked for my cdl etc. Then we grabbed food and slept in the truck. Nothing like waking up in a tight space. We headed back to where she went the previous night because the load wasn't ready then we headed to PA. After that , Ohio . I drove from Ohio to Kansas. What a crazy ride. I drove through a blizzard in Arizona and it was horrible. Oregon is shut down and California has the most cruel signs on those #### hills lol. Just when you think its over , its not. Anyways, my trainer is on homebtime and I'm here in Utah. Heading back out in 2 days, switching to teams. Just want to upgrade already but patience is a virtue .

Do your Swift training, expirience ( 6 months + ) and out to somewhere better. Swift is good stepping up stone. There are no money for company driver -- dimes and nickles.

So, its been almost a month since I've been living out on the road. I'm getting in the hang of things, doing loaded calls, dealing with BOLS, etc. I can drive like a mad man lol. Dealt with some jerk customers but it comes with the territory I suppose. I've got a week left with my amazing trainer. She's been good to me. As I her. We both have families that depend on us so we depend on each other. I'm excitdled and a little nervous to upgrade and be seated on my own truck but here goes!

For many in the business... Swift is and has always been a stepping stone / starting point for many here. As long as you are happy with them and enjoy the dealing with them and their ways, good for you, Stay and be happy. Many folks have come to enjoy Swift and their dealings to make life long careers out of them. Wish you the best.
