I have a question about a possible technicality on a citation I received today for a one vehicle incident. Is it possible to get a citation thrown out based on a single box not being checked properly?
Technicality on citation..?

Possibly. I got pulled in for random inspection in the Los Angles area back in the 80's. There was the inspector and the CHP officer. While the inspection was going on my truck, the LEO had already written my information on the ticket. I thought to myself "wtf"! Anyways, the truck pass all inspection. So the LEO looks around figures he has to find something on me. Well long story short, he wrote me up for log book when I run local. So when I went to court, I showed the judge my inspection form that I had pass and even passed on the log book on the inspectors form. So the judge dismissed it.

Well, mine might be a bit of a stretch, but...on the citation, under the question "Commercial Vehicle: yes/no", the officer checked "no". Like I said, a bit of a stretch, but..?

I had one of those too, for speeding. The LEO was in training and forgot to write it up as a commercial vehicle violation. Ticket cost me $95.00 instead of $300.00. I never questioned it, just paid it and went to traffic school.

Awesome! But what about it being a DOT reportable then?

The court can allow latitude with mistakes by cops, especially on tickets.

What was the citation for?
