There is no federal law saying that a commercial vehicle is any different than a normal passenger car in regards to guns. In other words, you are subject to the same laws and regulations while in a commercial vehicle as you would be if you were in you private car.
There MAY be specific "No guns in commercial vehicle" laws in some legal jurisdictions (State, county, city) but I am not aware of any. However, YOU best be sure about wherever you are at the time.
You are of course subject to whatever rules the company you work for imposes upon you in order to continue your employment there.
Although not part of the question I will add; Be aware that if your job requires you to go to a port and to pass through port security that no guns are allowed on a port facility other than those carried by officially recognized law enforcement officials.
Also be advised that if you plan to do business on a port facility you will have to obtain a federal TWIC security clearance card or hire an escort who has one to accompany you at all times while on port property.
Of course we all know that those intent on breaking the law and causing the honest law abiding people on the port property harm (Unarmed by legal mandate) will do as they please when it comes to carrying firearms.
Hope the above was helpful.
Is it illegal to carry a gun in a commercial vehicle?

If you are not a prohibited person, you are ALWAYS allowed to keep a firearm in your dwelling. Where did you sleep last night?

Sure would not want to have to rely on that in Chicago, Boston, New York, LA....
On the other hand, while you put his kid through Harvard, (although he will never admit it) your lawyer is probably going to love the fact that you tried that.... Lol.spyder7723 Thanks this. -
As the cliche goes, "I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6..."
This just happened not far from where I grew up:

I'm not on the road much anymore but my company doesn't really have a policy so I didn't ask, and they don't know. The only place I couldn't carry is some deliveries at airports, where they actually make you empty pockets, metal detector, etc at the truck gate. I plan ahead and don't carry if I'm going there. I've delivered in lots of places with "no gun zone" signs, but that's the beauty of concealed carry, they have no idea.
As stated above, only carry in states where your permit is valid.
